Canada Day : 18:48 hrs

Returning briefly to Riviere-du-Loup to complete Day one of our last escapade. Same Public park called Parc de la Pointe
where I took Martine & a little princess the located near the Ferry terminal.

I am not planning too much my sessions with Martine, but while we explored briefly the park, after our picnic, I loved the sight and light I saw looking North Easterly from the pavillon. So I asked Martine to take off her white coat, despite the chilly temperature to take the opportunity for a few shots. By the way , across the river in that direction , you would end up in Tadoussac at the mouth of the Saguenay river and fjord.

I wanted to capture Martine using the natural light only. No flash used. I asked her to look briefly toward the sun. I thought, the pavillon windows on the right would provide enough reflections to light up the shadowed side. But it did not work as expected. I am not too satisfied with the result despite I like the mood.I cloned a wire, a couple of wooden posts.

Yes it was raining in the background (^_^). Image uncropped. Played a bit with tones, levels, and contrasts. Sharpened as usual after resizing for the TL.

Tomorrow I start with images of Day 2 . Thanks for your patience . I hope you enjoy the ride so far.

See the map to find out where we were.

I uploaded my previous pots, but I realized from my office , ( change of monitor ) the image was not the correct version. So I am uploading it today. Enjoy your weekend.

Wow! Great sharpness and detail, Robert. Exposure and saturation is well maintained. Lovely tones and colors.
Freddie :)

Bonsoir Pierre,
Une bien jolie lady dans un cadre idyllique. Tout est parfait, la luminosité, les ombres du soleil couchant, et la pose de votre modèle privé (vous allez faire beaucoup d'envieux dans la gente masculine) ;-)

Martine and the view are both very attractive Robert. But I understand about you not being too satisfied with the lighting, as I too would like to see her not so shaded. Still, you can always keep trying:)))
Best regards

Lovely shot. The background is perfect and your composition is spot on. The colors and sharpness are perfect. Very well done!

Lemme guess...you were wearing a very similar outfit..? :-)

I have a slight concern that the natural divide in the shot is perhaps too central, but that aside it's a good shot and worthy of framing. Your wife looks lovely and relaxed, enjoying the view. A cool and elegant shot, well done!

(oops, just noticed the tip of her toe seems slightly cut off, but as you postyed uncropped that would have been difficult to spot when shooting).

The overall colours work very well here...the red/white/blue combo is just superb and i think that is what appeals to me most.

Overall, the positives far outweigh any of my personal niggles, so well done indeed on a great portrait.

Bonsoir Robert,
Martine pourrait poser pour un magazine de mode et elle serait parfaite!
Excellent ce point de vue! Il y a une belle profondeur dans ta photo et les couleurs sont superbes.Le rouge particulièrment agit comme un vrai catalyseur! Bravo! Annie.

Hello Robert,
Beautiful lady captured in beautiful setting with wonderful light.
Like the relaxed pose of Martine looing in to the sunlight very much.
Color contrast between the blue sky and red vest is great.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice Sunday,

Wow ... delightful! Excellent composition, excellent depth of field and a very nice take on the frame, it enhances the portrait nicely.
Congratulations - it's a lovely portrait!

Hi Robert,

Hoi Robert.
Very good composition and POV.
Beautifull colours.
Well done.

I think the shaded view is nice, it brings out the highlights. Martine is as beautiful as ever here...
The only thing I would change (which you already addressed) is the shoe tip.
I do like the perfect pose!
Well done,

Beautiful portrait shot, really making the absolute best of the light.

Salut Robert,
Quelles couleurs ! Le ciel vous a même gratifié d'une forte averse en arrière plan pour ajouter à la composition ! C'est sûr que travailler (est-ce un travail ?) avec un beau modèle est un excellent départ...

Nice off-center composition, and great saturated colors. I think you are right about the reflection, and the light/dark contrast is about perfect, with no color cast.
P.S. I like this version better than the close-up.

Bonsoir Robert :)

Tres jolie composition , Superbe. Tout est parfait :)
Quel jolie décor. Un gros bravo a Ton modele, Il ne faut pas decevoir ta plus grande fan.
Merci de partager, Salutations, Josée

Hello Sir Robert,

This is a magnificient portrait of a graceful lady. A beautiful weather is rightly depicting on the horrizon along with deep blue sky. An aesthetic presentation and well placed subject. Well done.

Many thanks for sharing this image.

A very pretty and stylish lady she is, she looks a million dollars here. The red of her top contrasts beautifully with the vibrant blue sky, love the setting, it makes you really wanna be there, the pastel shades of the pillars and the natural wood floor all gels perfectly, sharpness is great as is colour balance, the whole image is just wonderful, and great presentation too!
My regards to you and your fine lady.

I like colors and sharpness here.I can see what you mean but the overall composition manage to conceal the minor ones.TFS:)
