Great portrait! I like the tight composition and cropping. Good B&W here. Nice contrast and tonal range. PP work with the selective sharpening is excellent.

the tight crop and tilted smiling face makes it a nice compo. soft light and BW works fine. you could have darkened the BG a bit. that's just my opinion.

Portraiture is someting I LOVE but sadly don't get to do much of it.
B&W looks good with decent tonal range. Lovely smile from the lady, nice catch lights in her eyes. Nice shooting for sure. You have an awesome little lens there. I have the 1.8 and love it...but will easily trade with you :)))
Well managed using the (relatively) shallow aperture - you're right, I've been trying portrait shots at f1.8 and unless the eyes are focused once the shot has been composed, even the slightest shift in camera angle can throw the point of focus off.
You've done an excellent job with this, great light too and a lovely smile from your subject.
Nicely captured and well done on the composition.
I would highly recommend not to play with selective sharpening in photoshop especially on selective focusing with the use of a wide ap.
You take away the true focus, in this case, it would be ONE eye and if you are at the right focal plane, the other eye and mouth. That would be like winning a million bucks. :=)
Definitely not the depth of the hat.
Having said that, like I said, nicely done, well done on the B/W conversion.

How on earth did you get so many points for this portrait? A flat picture of a plain girl. tired but sweet.

What a nice portrait! Lovely smile, too...
Looking at as more portraits as I can, I hope to improve finally my technique.
