Hey ! Here is a lucky picture I took this afternoon. I was chatting with a friend of mine when I saw this chipmunk "walking" slowly on a metal pole toward a bird feeder. I then decided to take a picture from quite far away... then I moved a bit closer and took another picture... and again, and again until I reached about 5 inches from him. I only had my Canon G2 but I was so close that I even used the macro mode at full telephoto (max zoom). This was the last shot; the chipmunk jumped away shortly after this one but I was quite happy with the result. I did some minor processing in Photoshop (unsharp, level adjustment and shadow/highlight and cropping). I hope you'll like the result. Let me know what you think.

Enjoy it !!!

wow that was a lucky shot. great job:)

Funny how you got so close without him running off. Nice shot thanks for sharing.

Amazing capture Frank. I've only been this close to a chipmunk once but didn't have macro mode, what a great result!

Nice quality macro, you were lucky that it stayed there for you!

Well done.
