Recently, we spent just over a week in the hospital with my dad. He was on a palliative care ward ... an amazing place for people who are making the final journey of their lives.

This ward is, of course, set up for the patients, to make them as comfortable as possible in their last days; but also for the families ... so that they can accompany their family member, also in the most comfortable way possible.

We were having lunch one day in the large family room, when I spotted these jigsaw puzzles stacked on the shelves. THought it might make an interesting image - especially interesting, because my dad was an avid jigsaw-er.

Natural light from the large windows to my right.

Hi Trudy
I like the graphic effect of this puzzle boxes with the different fonts open in the contrasted and vivid colors. Perfect crop and composition, and a great graphic and arty effect.
Best regards, mb

Bonjour Trudy
nice graphic effect, your picture would make a nice jigsaw puzzle...beautiful colors with natural light..
well seen and well presented

Hi Trudy, a nice little collection, quite nice colours for natural light. I have someone close thats nearly ready for pallative care but I thinks shes more of a deck of cards type.Or mahjong. Fiona

I couldn't help but read you thread to Fiona about the puzzles to which i may add that my grandfather ( father's side ) was also an immensely passionate of jigsaw puzzles as your dad was , it was a passion he had found ( to pass away the time and alleviate the sorrow )in the early weeks following his wife's passing away . He was exceptionally good at it , i would marvel at his doing the most difficult ones in good time for a 70+ year old man , it was no surprise that he was actually working on one when he had to be taken to the hospital where he later died , he was 78 .
Your father was keeping his brain active and what a great game to achieve that purpose , they had that one passion in common .
Great photo , nice crop Trudy and a good photographic eye to see the shot ,
take care amiga ,

Excellent photo Trudy. Sharp, clear and concise subject; just sorry to hear of the circumstance that you're seeing these puzzles!
