[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is an HDR daylight shot turned into night, with a moon added. I have many shots of this tree in my gallery. It's one of my favorite trees in Texas. It's on the shoreline of Lake Travis. It's out there by itself and I have taken many different views of it.
So a few weeks back I was out there at the lake, riding around in the back of a pickup, taking pictures of what is left of the lake, because of drought conditions. I liked this shot, but...... I don't know, could not get it right.
So when I have a shot that I like...but can't quite get there with it, I usually do something odd and things work out. I lowered brightness way down, leveled out tones, added blue tint, and added a moon, pulled some clouds over it and voila!
Hope you like it!
Off to get my flu shot today...OUCH!

Linda I like what you did with this shot, and from an creative point I think its well done.
As I looked at it longer something seemed out of place. I think for me its how far the brightness extends into the clouds throughout the photo. I looked at some I've taken in a fullmoon and they don't seem to reach out as far (in the right side).
Maybe its me but that's just something that caught my attention after my initial look.

Hi Linda

Good pp work & the blue moon reminds me of this old Mike Nesmith song.

Hi Linda,
LOVE your blue shots- perfect for a rainy new england day. Excellent lighting in the moon- nice silhouetting and well defined details. Good job on this. TFS Julie

This might be very great looking, might be most of the critique r like it because of the tones, but if we watch it very closely it seems that two of the most strongest objects are lying on the same rule of thirds.

Kindly check.

Very good night blue shot.
Moon and sky are beautiful.

la palette de bleu représentée ici est spledide et reflete bien la nuiit
la lune éclaire bien le paysage et donne une luminosité douce

Hi Linda,

i always like your "day-turned-into-night" kind of processing.,always moody and wonderfully gloomy.
i see a bit of flare on the left side of the tree though. maybe it is intentional with the moon,. =D

Interesting effect, I like those bluish tones. The scene for some horror movie...
