I found this while cleaning out my pics and I am always amazed at how close this buck came up to me, almost TOO close..those horns look sharp! 20 years ago I would have fainted on the spot for an opportunity to photograph an animal of this stature.

I can't tell you how many cold, dark, miserable years I sat in a deer stand waiting for "something" not knowing how to get a shot like this! It's amazing what a good camera can accomplish!

Have a wonderful Sunday, Dave and I are saddling up the motorcycles to head to a small town called Fayetteville for an afternoon dinner. This particular ride from Houston, to Bellville, to Fayetteville and back is called the "Bellville Bounce"! It's about a 180 mile round trip!

Good, clear shot of this animal. The larger aperture helps to make the horns stand out agains the almost same colour grass behind it.

WOW! stunningly beautiful buck. What a cool capture! Love all the details colors and textures. Great picture! TFS

Hi Linder,
Indeed this buck is almost inside your lens. Absoutely sharp with great natural colours. Together with the frame a (almost)perfect image, only a pitty you didn't capture his horns totally. Nevertheless a fine posting my dear Calamity :) Take care and have a nice week.

:) Later...

Hi Linda, lovely portrait of this very expressive animal, great pose, splendid colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

You didn't know you had I shot like this hanging around? I would have remembered! While many do tricks like stepping out of the frame, you didn't, yet it appears as if the head is coming right out! Incredible perspective view!
:) later
