The Falls of Occoquan
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This small waterfall is located in the Town of Occoquan is located on the Occoquan River (an estuary) in Northern Virginia. This image was shot from the top looking downward along the falls toward the river below.|
The original image was shot in RAW and PP began in PS-RAW adjusting Color Temp, Clarity, and Vibrance. In PS, removed a very prominent sensor dust spot (using small apertures like f/22 really make these spots very noticeable). Then using NIK Viveza added Structure and adjusted color targeting only the surrounding rocks and greenery. Next using NIK HDR (tone mapping), I processed the image adding only subtle HDR type enhancements. Finally, I also processed a monochrome version in another layer using NIK Silver Efex for future use. Back in PS, I made some final tweaks to the color image.

The treatment is effective, the texture of the water is superb.
There is a impression of movement and it's as if I heard the waterfall.
Very good pov too.
Very creative! I like the effect of the slow speed. Great pov with nice colors. Well done, tfs.

good time shot
you never fall
because it is a fall
Hello Larry, I do not begin to understand all the processes that the shot went through! But it is very effective. The water looks almost like smoke to me,it has a very interesting texture. The wet stones and vegetation make a good frame.
Tfs, regards Jean.
Nice shot of this waterfall with great clarity. You can almost feeel the water flowing. The wet rocks on the side are also well caught with neat texture. Very nice job.
