I've been pondering over this shot deciding whether I like it or love it, Michael.

No matter what anyone says about it, it will remain a shot you'll personally cherish, love, look at and refer to for years to come.
Without a doubt, a very personal shot, but take away all of the reasons you took it, I've decided I love it.

What I love about it more than anything, is the totally relaxed stature. (Lighting is ideal too)
The rubbing of the hands, the fact she's not "posing" in any way at all, the way she's looking out to sea in a world of her own, the warm glow of the rising sun, the framing of the portrait and thewind swept hair, all of which are perfect (in my opinion).

There is definitley method in how you've approached/cropped/framed this shot, and albeit very slight, the rule of 1/3s is eye catchingly apparent with the way you've balanced her back and folded arms within the frame and this has helped in creating such a wonderful shot.

I tend to shy away from people shots, and this shot has made me realise what i'm missing.

Excellent work,
Thanks for posting this one.

Michael
You took the picture at the best hour of the day and in the best place. Good result.
