Yes, this really is Arnold Schwarzenegger. Being the governor of California, he came to Ft. Irwin to send us off to Kuwait and Iraq in March of 2004.

He was his humerous self, asking us if we wanted to hear his prepared "governor's @#*%# speech" or if we wanted to just have him talk to us. You can guess what our response was...

I got a few nice shots of him and got to shake his hand after the ceremony.

Thank you for sharing, Philip! I happened to see Arnold coming to the Plaza hotel in New York City for a ceremony, so he was wearing a tuxedo and was acompanied by his beautiful wife, Maria.
All of us, the viewers, expected him to be much taller (as in "Twins", for example :)), but I was really excited to see a "living legend"! :)
Actually, living in New York City, I happen to see famous actors and personalities from time to time. This is pretty interesting, I like to see them in real life.
Looking forward to your new photos! Irina

Lol! It's funny to think that i have a couple of DVD of the actor who became a Senator. But it was not the first time an actor became an important politic personage! Remember Ronald Reagan... I knew it.. But seriously about the movies... I was simply not born i think so... Have no idea of the style...

Well good shot! The composition respect very much the style of the situation!

OOP... Tomorrow

Even if I don't like this guy ... I didn't like him as an actor and I don't like him as a governor ... I have to admid that your shot is great. If I wouldn't know who he is I would say "a great guy" thanks your way to catch him this way.

Awesome capture of the Governator! B&W was a great choice and I love the POV...was he reciting the Pledge of Allegiance?

Thanks for sharing!

Hey, great shot of Arnie in an unrehearsed, natural action pose. I knew him since his pre-movie days in Austria. People think that I am imitating his accent, but fact is, we are both from the same place, so our accents are similar, even after all these years.
Cheers

A great capture of Arnie and of the rest of the photo too , all nice and sharp and looks good in B&W.

Wow, how cool is that. The terminator in a close up. I like his pose and your choice of B/W.
Good capture!
