[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is actually a macro shot of the texture of a very small portion of a very LARGE boulder with "moss" growing on it. The striations and the moss look like an aerial shot of a mountain range. This capture is from last Sunday's exploration around White Pine Lake.

PP: RAW image processed in CS3 - only set black points and sharpened, of course framed and sized for TL.

Nice capture of the layered texture. The moss looks somewhat dry, I imagine not much rain there lately.

A boulder torte with moss filling. (Oh, dear...I must be hungry.) Interesting layered look and combination of hard rock/soft moss textures. Good natural colors and up-close look for the curious:) Well done.

This turned out great!! Really good detail. I might have to try this :) TFS and have a nice day!

Yes Dan,

That green stuff is what we call mos, glad you use the same name - in South Africa I think they used lychen - and for a few days I wondered what they were talking about.
A lovely boulderscape it is then.

Hi Dan,
This one looks like something Jackson Pollock came up with. Lovely patterns and lines from the moss growing eratically on this old boulder. Excellent contrast between the silver blue rock and varying shades of green.
Regards, Tom
