[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the most photographed sites in West Virginia, at this point the Blackwater River falls five stories, and winds through eight miles of gulch. This day it was swollen from the recent rain, but the water still has its amber tint due to tannic acids from fallen hemlock and red spruce needles.

Not much editing here; a slight crop, and I increased the contrast to 4.

Wonderful capture, and pov, Karen! Very peaceful, yet powerful and evocative.

Karen,
Simply beautiful. Makes me want to put up a hammock, open a book and relax the day away.
Great work!

gee we just traveled through west virginia sorry I missed this spot! beautiful waterfalls, nice job. TFS
Donna :o)

An excellant composition. It has just the right ratio of sky, trees and water to make keep my eye moving within it. The shutter speed was slow enough to create the illusion of movement.
