Suzanne mentioned that I should post one more photo of my vacation, so that I have a total of 50 photos in my travelogue. Well, here it is another view in the Tetons. this time taken from Cunningham Cabin.

The Cunningham Cabin was built in 1890 by Pierce and Margaret Cunningham as part of a 160 acre homestead. It's a lodgepole pine "dog-trot" style building consisting of two separate boxes with a veranda in the center, the entirety of which is covered with a sod roof. At first it was used as a home, then later as a barn and smithy. In 1893 two suspected horse thieves were shot and killed at the cabin by an angry posse.

When I was there, I was allowed to go inside the cabin. I heard that only a few days later people weren't allowed to go inside it anymore.

Teck Talk: Shot in RAW, converted to JPEG. Adjusted levels and curves. Small crop and framed it. And a touch of USM

We meet again :-)

Great shot, nice composition with the fence going diagonally across the front of the foreground. Lovely mountains. Good colours, saturation and contrast

Hi Niek,
Nature nature nature - where ever you look - it's wonderful. What a great view to the mountains. And the combination of the fresh green and the pretty blue is beautiful.
Thanks, great shot

Hoi Niek,
TFS Niek!

Your note made me laugh, Niek. I am glad you decided to post one more as this one is very beautiful. It is funny how different the place look when the grass is green as we also went to Cunningham Cabin (could not go inside the roof was falling in) and our pictures are quite different because the grass was yellow and the sagebrush a kind of grey that makes the pictures quite dull.

Nice composition to include the typical fence of this part of the world but I might have considered cloning out the white thing on the right which looks like a plastic bag. Nice colours & light. Well done!

lovely scenery, nice compositon with colours, and fence.. a great effect. TFS ..good notes, too.Meagan

Good composition, Niek! The inclusion of the fence is very nice. Kind of healous to see all that green and no smoke on the mountains! TFS!

This is a wonderful landscape. Great colours, excellent sharpness and details, a very nice composition. I love this picture.
Achim

What a peaceful place it looks. The composition looks simple yet is quite effective. The line of the fence complements the line of the mountains, yet is not alike in its direction. The colours are also great. I also like the contrast of snow covered peaks, but vibrant greenery of the plains.

Hi Niek
Such a picturesque landscape, truly a western look with the old grey wooden fence and the spectacular Tetons in the background. The colours are awesome from the sky to the vegetation. Wonderful composition and lighting.

Hello Niek,
amazing shot, the POV is very well choosen. The colors and the depth are fabulous. Very nice contrast and sharpness. A beautiful composed landscape.

Strangely the fence adds to the feeling of tremendous space in this image. Good foreground interest and a wonderful view. Thanks for the note too.

A superb landscape Niek!
Great composition, but what fantastic wiew!
Good exposure and depth of field help to provide a very well executed picture.
Best wishes
Bill

Hi Niek,

Nice landscape and composition. I like fences in pictures, especialy old ones like this. Add's a lot to a picture. Good DOF as usual, help to give the 'grandeur' of this fine place. I can just image how cowboys did ranching back in the old day's.

Stunningly well composed. The polariser brought the colours out perfectly. (of course shooting in RAW helps with post work, but that polariser is a gem, is it not)

Beauty, Niek. Great subject here (well, subjectS -- the Tetons, fence, brush and sky). I like the parallel lines between the fence and the mountains. But I can't say for sure what it is but there is something disturbing about that fence. I'm wondering whether there should be a bit more space in front of the fence, especially that "leg" that is cut off. Maybe a couple steps back or squatting down a bit? I can't figure it out, but see if that makes any sense to you. Great job in the exposure and color. I think some people who haven't been out west think we are over-saturating our colors, but that's just the way they look!

Hello Niek, this landscape is superb! Must be something to witness this beauty. And you captured it very well! The mountains look huge.

I like the fence in the fg which repeats the line of the mountain!

Well seen and executed, Yan :)

ps: thx so much for your visit in "Pasture".

Hello Niek!

Wooohooo! Quite a change from the Duch landscapes (^_^). Great post Niek! The kind of shot that would attract modern pionneers to Go West (^_^), and ejoy the Wild Wild West!
Cheers!
Robert
Brilliant idea to keep the fence in the FG.

WOW! This is incredible Niek! Excellent shot, great colors! Nice and sharp!

Hoi Niek,

Wat een ontzettend mooi landschap!
Ik ben echt verzot op bergen en hier staan ze er echt prachtig op. Mooie heldere kleuren en het hekwerk op de voorgrond geeft het net dat beetje extra.
Ik vind het schitterend :-)

Niek,
I like the POV here. The colors are stunning and the composition rocks! Great texture in the field. It kind of reminds me of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. What is a smithy? Good notes. Well done,

Hi Niek,
Scrolling thru your portfolio is very interesting. You really try alot of differnt types of photography. I like alot of your still life compositions and urban scenes. But I guess the outdoorsman and nature photographer in me is always first drawn to this type of shots.
This is superb!
Scott

Hi Niek,

This is a fantastic shot, very well composed and managed, the lighting is just perfect. TFS

Hi Niek,
from one end to another everything is so clear.
From top to bottom the natural colours are splendidly composed.
The perspective exploited by having the wooden fence cutting across amke this scenery very beautiful and briliantly composed.

Foozi
