According to Google Maps, there are 2808 kms between Toronto and Oregon Buttes, Wyoming.

Yet, one can find another example of a cart wheel, just maybe not as in good shape as the one I presented you a few days ago! This one was standing by the side of an old trading store that was closed for the season. The area is well known for its ghost towns, Atlantic City and South Pass being the most famous.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

What a boring thumbnail and what a revealing full-size phot. I find this among one of your best 5 works, IMO. Absolutely great example of using minimal-given options to construct an excellent compo consisting of geometry, texture and cropping. This is already a higher-learning moment of photography. Bravo!

Salut Pierre,
J'aime beaucoup l'effet de matière de cette roue née du bois.
A slice of history.

Phil.

Hello Pierre
Very nice composition and beautifull colors.

Well done
Frans

Excellent composition Pierre. The wood textures and lines are wonderful in the different shapes. Brilliant to include the broken space in the wheel. The missing piece makes the whole shot, leaving stories to be told. This certainly is a picture to learn from.

Love and Peace Always,
Kevin

Hi Pierre,
I really like the almost monotone effect here. The wheel blends in well with the background (a good thing here I think), ste appart only by the strong lines and the slight colour difference. Really nice texture study,
Well done,
Jako

Bonjour Pierre,

Bravo! Annie

Pierre,
You just gave a clinic on texture and composition. You just don't know it!
Superb work here, I'm speechless.(Which is very rare)

Hi Pierre

Superb texture in the wood with excellent lighting. Tfs. I like the tight cropping & panoramic format. Merci!

I like motive and your decision on composition...but I think light is not good for this shot... You just need some shadows to acentuate on shapes and lines throughout image. Best light is somwhere around late afternoon for this because sun is low on horison and gives great modeling light for details to pop up in this kind of image. Also, I think somhow that this motive is very good for BW conversion and if I imagine it bw it seams to me that it will be better but I realy need shadows to play my eye around... :)

Lovely textures and shapes, and nice smooth natural colours. Composition is well balanced and makes the picture nicely interesting
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hello Pierre,
a wonderful subject and a great mix of lovely lines and curves. Also a lot of great texture in that weathered wood. Very well cropped and composed.

Très bien vue Pierre. Les tons de gris sont magnifiques. Sans parler du mariage de textures.

Beau travail!

Hi Pierre,
..and what a well thought-of and well captured image this is. Love the 'time-tested' and 'old feel' this photo portrays. So much unsaid story. The colour & texture just adds to that. Well done.
