The Fort Worth parade in Texas.
This man riding the pony is all dressed up in his Indian gear and does look scary with his war paint on. The Apache Indians were the brave and fierce warriors of the American Southwest. This brave and his horse are really dressed in the authentic manner.

What is even scarier than the war paint is that he was riding this horse in the parade with only a piece of string in the horses’ mouth as a bridle. As a testament to both the skill of the rider and the temperament of the horse, both did very well.

The brave was also leading a pony and had several white women with him as captives. It was all very authentic.

HI Joni
What a great capture, almost going back into time.
A bit oe in spots but it does not ruins the shot.
I like the angle that you caught them, and it looks as if you were going to be the target.

Hi MF Joni,

Envious shot in tight framing. A pleasure to watch with the horse and the painted face man on it.

I like it and well done.

Jusni

I love horse's and portrait photography. This one is two in one. You can watch horse's and portraits on my page.

Hello Joni,

Smack my hand, I hadn't critiqued this.
I remember, I had run out of smilies and postponed the critique! (I'm getting old!)

Anyway, I think it is fabulous!
The Apache creates emotions of fear, respect and awe as he might have done decades ago!
Your portrait format suits this perfectly. It focusses all attention on this superb image.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi, Joni. Very nice capture of the Indian brave. Agree with you he does look authentic. I have lived in the West and saw some horse riders riding without a saddle in Wyoming. Photo has action, sharpness and the background looks good . Cheers.

hello joni. the expression on the face of the man and the attention of the horse at this moment are really good. captured with great detail and exposure. best, phil
