We just got back from a Spring Break trip to Oahu. Great weather overall except for very high winds. The hotel in which we stayed seemed to be a vortex for the high winds and sounded like a hurricane was imminent most of the time. This is a photo of Rabbit Island, called that by the locals because its shape is similar to a rabbit's head (with his ears down) from certain angles. It is located just past Coco Head on the windward side of the island. Most tourists stay in Waikiki their whole time, but the windward side of Oahu is very pretty. In some places it rivals Kauai which most people consider to be the most beautiful of the islands. It really pays to rent a car and drive around the island to appreciate the full beauty of Hawaii.

I shot this with my Canon Digital Rebel XT and my Tamron 10-24 lens. I used a circular polarizer lens (thanks again, Dennis!) On iPhoto, I cropped and resized and added saturation and sharpness just a little. Canon DSLR settings are a little tame in those categories.

The entire image is awesome. I like the way you framed the island using the trees. This created an excellent POV. Have a ice day

Hi Gilbert,
A wonderful panorama, well captured. The different green tones are striking in this picture, particular the emerald colour of the sea. Sharpness, brightness and contrast are all fine, creating a beautiful picture. Job well done my friend!

Hi Gilbert,

Nicely composed from the foreground rocks to the island. Excellent DOF and the colors and tones are wonderful. Hope the earthquake didn't cause you any problems, and as an FYI, Dennis has left TL.

Ciao Gilbert,

Nice purposes of this beautiful landscape!
This is almost a fairy tale picture with the wonderful reflections.
Superb perspective and depth b, is pleasant look at.

Hi Gilbert .. another trip to Hawaii!!
I love the vividness of the colors here .. the greens are so bold, and the water and sky colors are beautiful. Everything is so sharp - the tree trunks and rocks seem to jump out somehow .. almost as though it's 3D. Very well done.

Hi Gilbert,
Wow tropical paradise. The colours are a visual treat! Beautifully composed too to include so many elements -rocks, beach, sea island etc.

Nice strong colour from the CP.. Good sharp shot and a nice wide angle view..

I reckon a stitched panoramic would be great including more from the left and right of this scene..

Hi Gilbert!

You are so very welcome! You are getting good use out of it; this is lovely! I think the CP really brings out the color. Excellent composition with the tree leading into the corner. I like it very much!

Take care buddy,

Hi Gilbert,

Nice shot! I really like the composition - the exposure is perfect, as well, but I am glad you added the saturation - I like deep saturation myself. Beautiful job!

Have a great day!
