A Washington D.C scene from last spring. Wash DC gets about 3 million visitors each year. The peak of tourism is during spring when the cherry blossom trees along the Potomac River tidal basin are in full bloom and when the weather is most favorable for long walks.

Immediately after this shot was taken, a park police informed me that tripods are not allowed on that particular spot. He pointed an area where I can set up my tripod but the spot does not particularly have a pleasing vista.

I processed this image in Photomatix using the exposure balance feature. The image appears fine in my dull monitor.

Greetings from Key West, Florida where margaritas, pina coladas, gulf shrimp, and Key Lime pies are the staples.

Hi Danilo,
A great photo and lucky you that the police officer came after you took this photo. I really like the refelction of the cloud in the FG. It draws the eyes perfectly into the composition. This looks to be a photo with high contrast, and the HDR did help you level it out a little. I am not sure if the photo is tilted or has some lens distorition but the building is leaning to the left.

Danillo all i can say about this is excellent the details colours and pov are awesome my friend
tfs regards bryan

Bonjour Danilo ,
Votre photo est remarquable ! Très belle composition , couleurs fabuleuse , etc.... Vous avez choisi le moment idéal pour prendre cette image . Bravo ! Ernset .

Hi Danilo,

Just gorgeous! The reflections are nicely captured and the wide angle view is perfect for this type of shot. Excellent use of thirds. One has to wonder why there is a rule against tripods here, but I guess there's no sense arguing with them.

Hope you're having a nice vacation in Key West!

Bravo et amitié

Hello Danilo,

The lighting has great impact.
Its reflections, snaking across the water, conjure up memories of lightning flashes, and what an effect it has the trees, and their reflections. I just love it!
The whole shot is so well composed; the building in a strong position and the rule of thirds well implemented.

Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)

Golden sunlight and silhouettes are the best part of this wonderful image, Danilo!

You captured the real beauty of the sky coupled with a lovely place where lake give some of the best-ever mirror reflections in giving a symmetrical appearance of the clouds.

Your interpretation is great where you left no stone unturned in showing peaceful and pleasant side of this attractive place. Well seen!

Hi Danilo,
Amazing POV. of the Lincoln Memorial with great reflection,
Beautiful sunset nicely presented and composed ,
all my compliments

This is amazing, Danilo. Did the constabulary give a reason why no tripods were allowed where you were? Sounds like something similar to what I read in the Post this past week about police and guards trying to shackle the photographers:

Hi Danilo,
I only spent one day visiting Washington D.C. & I thought it was a lot like a modern Rome, with all its gigantic statues to its past great men,in some way similar to the past Gods of ancient Rome, wierd how ones mind can work:-)but I wished I could have at least had 10 days to explore all its fantastic museums & architecture,as it looked a lovely city to explore with a camera & viewing your vibrant image of the Licoln Memorial, I wish I had.I like how the lines of the trees & walkways on either side of the river lead the eye into the scene & right at the monument. The reflections of the sunset & the night sky are captured well in the river.Have to check out the "Exposure balance feature" of Photomatix when using a single image.Reading your note,I would imagine it's going to be tough leaving the paradise of Key West, shrimp & margaritas, sure sounds gooood.

Hi Danilo
Impressive job my friend
Excellent colors, reflections and depth
Thanks for sharing

That is beautiful Danilo!! Excellent comp, nice saturation and very wonderful clouds in this shot! The reflections are outstanding!

Hi Danilo....great shot...wonderful colors and tones...excellent light...nice work.

i must be watching different picture, than most of the users. What I see e is a photo with everage composition and drastic overuse of photoshop in rather not the best way. Darkening of the sky and it,s reflection brought unnatural saturation of colors anf halo efect around trees

Great colors and reflection.
Regards Zoran

Although I find that the sun is quite bright in the photo, I really like the effect! It illuminates and draws attention to the Lincoln Memorial. The angle you have chosen is perfect with the trees on either side forming a nice lead in to the memorial. Nice reflection on the mirror like water.I certainly can't understand why a tripod is prohibited.. can't people just walk around you??? Lisa

you are good Danilo, this one pops out in any gallery.
everything works here, great light control, perfect composition, good pp work.
i am enjoying this view imagining i were there!

Hello, Danilo -
Spectacular image! Gorgeous reflections, particularly of the colorful sky and clouds. The silhouetted trees are also nicely reflected. What a perfect POV - too bad the cop kicked you out. Such great colors! Hope you are enjoying your travels.

Ciao Danilo

Beautiful, I do not know what to comment to you
by so much beauty in this scenario. The post is beautiful
has beautiful color and am fascinated by the beautiful skyline!
I love the silhouettes of trees, ranging up to the memorial!
With defects found in your photo, to me this wonderful.

of course it's a worked shoot ☺

perhaps the orange sky part is a litlle too much orange but all the reflexions trees and coulds part is great!

something wrong with the water bords from left that make us see as if the house is not in good horizon, but I checked with a square and it's good

Woooow, Danilo, this moment is wonderful and full of a romantic atmosphere.
I love the reflection and the warm colours.
Fantastic work, thanks.
Warm regards

Danilo, a very striking and dramatic photograph of Lincoln's Memorial! This is a vew that I am sure few people, including me, have ever witnessed. The sky colour and reflection in the wading pool is awesome, to say the least. No matter what PP work you did on this photo before publishing it is to be rewarded in making this a very unique and awe inspiring photo in our nation's capital.
