|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Two weeks ago our granddaughter graduated from high school, so I traveled down south to celebrate with the family. It was almost 100 degrees in Louisville, Kentucky, but I wandered out in the back yard with my camera (for only a few minutes). I only took a couple of pictures, and this is one of them.|
Over the last few years my brown thumb has gotten a little greener, and our back yard is getting quite colorful. But this is one plant that I have not had success with. They bloom beautifully, and I have to keep them from climbing up on the roof. But they do not come back the next year. Suggestions?

Nice macro shot Carol Lynn. I love the color and the sharp detail at its heart. So pretty and well done with a good dof. Congratulations to your granddaughter. Wish I could help about the plants but I don't have much success either. The weather this year didn't help. My plants either froze or drowned. TFS, Lori
I love the way the flower is filling up the whole frame while spreading its arm-like petals, Carol!
A great flower with nice details and colors.
The sharpness and POV are excellent, and light is quite nicely handled.
The green BG provides well suited contrast to this beauty.

A nice heart of this propeller-like purple flower in such a geometrical composition.
Beautiful subtle lighting caressing its tall petals with perfect details at the heart of the flower. Nice contrast with the green.
