[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Like some of TL members, I am not that experienced with portrait photography, and this was just a snap shot of my grand son playing in the front court when I visited him at lunch yesterday. Tried to focus on the eye and have the eye on the third line. I also went down to his level and showed his truck toy behind. In PP I used OneOne Portrait plug in, added a vignette in PS. Light was natural from the left top with the surrounding walls help as a reflector. Enjoy...

Such a lovely portrait from your cute grandson, Vic!
Superb focus on his charming and innocent eyes.
Light and exposure are well done.
Good job!

Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Vic,

You have a cute grandson! I'm not much of a portrait photographer either, but you've got his eyes good and sharp, plus there's nice catchlight there. I'm not a big fan of the softening effect that the portrait plugin added, but that's a matter of taste.

I think that a different crop might work here because the negative space to his right (the left of the shot) detracts form the composition IMHO. I've done a workshop with my recommendation.

Again, a cute kid!

Good morning Vic,

Joli petit garçon:)

Like you I am not a follower of the portrait,
and here you have a successful performance.
Good clarity and color adjustment.
I agree with Werner, the WS image is ideal.
I make you my compliments for this.
Beautiful capture TFS.
Have a nice day.

But you did a wonderful job with the portrait of Tommy! Love the lighting and good dof with nice details. Good framing. Very well done, tfs.

Ciao Vic, great portrait of lovely boy with fantastic expression, excellent clarity, splendid light and wonderful colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Dear Vic

I am too not familiar with portrait photogrpahy but well done on trying, I think it came very nicely! Very cute grandson, a very innocent, happy expression captured on his face with lovely light reflection caught in the eyes! Good sharpness and nice soft light from the left.

Well done!

Kind regards,

Tommy is so cute, adorable expression with smile.
I'm not experienced with portraits but I think it's a good job, the perfect moment.
The car in the background is a plus that gives the world of childhood, perhaps framed Tommy on the left and the car on the right to have another use of space ? Just a thought.
Anyway, I enjoy the happiness that breathes in this photo.
Childrens are our future.
