[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Orchidaceae or orchid family is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants with colorful and fragrant blooms. Along with the Asteraceae, it is one of the two largest families of flowering plants, with between 21,950 and 26,049 currently accepted species, found in 880 genera. Selecting which of the two families is larger remains elusive because of the difficulties associated with putting hard species numbers on such enormous groups. Regardless, the number of orchid species equals more than twice the number of bird species, and about four times the number of mammal species. It also encompasses about 6–11% of all seed plants.[3] The largest genera are Bulbophyllum (2,000 species), Epidendrum (1,500 species), Dendrobium (1,400 species) and Pleurothallis (1,000 species). Bom dia Eleu,
You know I love orchids, so I had to like and much of Phalaenopsis you shows and what is a very good photo.
But as Judge of contests of orchids, I ask that you see some defects in dorsal sepal of the flower that might well have been cloned for the benefit of the greatest beauty.
My applause.

Hi Eleu.

Another vision of beauty today, we are so spoilt. The macro is so so good, we even seen the minute threads ofleft from a spider across this bloom. Your backdrop aids and enhances the mood, the joy and pleasure of this capture, very well taken. tfs

A great close up. The dark background nicely setts off the purples.

What a beautiful closeup capture of a orchid flower against a dark BG, Eleu!

The light and exposure are just fantastic.

The picture is excellent , interms of sharpness and brightness. It took me a few minutes to undrestand that the green bulb below the flower was another flower about to open.

Hello Eleu, the black bg is perfect for showing off the beautiful colours of the orchid. And it is so sharp that we see the fine fibres of the spiders' web.
Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Best wishes Jean.
