Taken at the St Leonards picnic ground one Summer morning. This chap was a regular visitor. He must have been extremely fit because he would disappear for sometimes an hour and paddle upriver, at times against quite a strong flow. He would dress like this even during Winter.

PP Work... auto levels and contrast, framing and USM.

Good basic shot with mood. You caught the line of the river and the kayak disrupting him and the background.

Allo David... superbe ta photo, c'est un sport que je découvre de plus en plus et que j'adore.
Quel bel endroit pour faire du kayak, ce cour d'eau semble invitant.
Merci de partager.

I love this photo, you have so many elements here, soothing calm waters, great scenery, and fantastic action! Well done and seen! Thank you for sharing!

I recognize the little shed and landpost in the back from a previous shot you did David. So I get to know the area ^_^ Well done here The fresh green in the back a little damped by morning fog..the reflection
All A1 ! Points later ..cheers

Hi david,
This is very interesting action well captured!
It is actually the kayak to create all the ripples we see, right?
Well composed image, where I like the lines...
Good colours and details... In particular I appreciate the strong foreground interest!

I remember this place - and the little pump house too. It is a good composition with the water disappearing around the corner, but I'm not too sure about the guy beeing so centred from all sides. Just my opinion, but still a good shot David,

great shot, great reflection as always, say what does he do when he hits the rocks jajajaja

Hi David...
Wonderful composition and very peacefull photograph... The pastel colors, the soft light and reflection on the river are perfect... Also perfect perspective and point of view...

Great shot. Like the details , colors & sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dave,

Lovely composition! I like the strong ripples behind the kayak in contrast with the foreground part of the river. Good DOF and soft colours!
Well done!

This is a lovely scene, David, but I seem to be the only one bothered by the brightness in the foreground! Since it's so light, my eye keeps wandering over there. Other than that, I love the curve of the river and the way the kayaak is coming towards you. The trees and vegetation are very fresh-looking!

Hi David.
Nice capture of the paddler.Love his reflection in the water ahead of him. From the look of his paddle (shape) I would say that he is a very serious paddler.(Used to be heavily involved in canoeing at one time).
Nice POV and lovely textures in the water and trees.
Kind regards,

Hi David,
Very beautiful composition. I like how the water is so quiet in front and with waves behind. Excellent sharpness, colors & reflections. Very well done.

Nice to see how the reflection is broken up where the guy has been.
Maybe the trees in the back are a bit over sharpened?

lovely rural scene, how much did you pay that person to go out in the cold?

hi David,
a lovely and serene atmosphere very well captured here.
I like the contrast between the water surface that has just been passed over by the kayaker and the surface in front of him!

Nice shot.
Kind regards, Daniel :)

Hi David,
I like what the bow wave has done to this photo. In front of it, it is a smooth as ice, and behind it the waves have made the water look alive. I like the position of the chap, but I am wondering if he is going to turn around or if he is able to stear by the rocks.
Great moody photo with super morning light conditions.

Very nice postcard David. Nice colours and lighting and transmits a peaceful sensation.

Hello David, I doubt that he is lonely; he is probably having the time of his life. The wake is just glorious on this image. Cheers G

Lonesome paddler :-) Great shot Davis, take care

Excellent mood and sense of steady motion. A subject in the middle of the frame doesn't normally work but this one certainly does. I like the varying hues too.
