Focus on the Eyes

|When taking a portrait photograph, the accepted standard is to focus on the eyes, I thought I might take a different kind of focus with this image. What do you think? I took this photo at Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney during 2007, but recently had an idea to do something with it. I was so very pleased that the King of the beasts gave me such a majestic pose.|

It wuold be helpful if u tell us the technique u employed for selective grey-scale that u have used....

This is a fine portrait!
Strong but possibly sad eyes, super details in this nice B&W rendering...
Tight framing still works well for directing attention!

I like the idea focusing on the eye leaving it in color and de-saturating the rest. the picture is a little out of focused (blurred) lacking in sharpness. yeah u should have tried with different setting. U lost one point sorry!
