As a change from the winter, here is a shot of the beach from Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. This is near the Rarotonga Beach Hotel (actually it's visible as a yellow stucco wall. Yes, it was as nice as it looks. The island is small and quiet (at least it was right before Christmas). We never made it to the outlying islands, but they looked amazing in brochures and on this website. I hope I can go someday.
This was shot with a 35mm P&S. Scanned from the negative. Contrast and color adjustments, and one sharpen. |

Hi Mike, we stayed at the Rarotonga Beach Spa and Resort om Muri Beach a few years back and had a wonderful holiday. Wonderful scene here. Sun, sand and palm trees, wonderful recipe for a great photo, and holiday. Well shown, thank you
Janice
Hello Mike,
I have been at the same place many years ago. It still looks the same and keeps its promise of a relaxing holiday destination. Good POV and contrasts. Well done. TFS Thomas
nice photo. the de-saturated look really works, adds a mysterious effect to the scene. the darkening color of the sky to the distance almost lends to the idea that a storm is closing in.
great.
