[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello. This is Te Matua Ngahere. Te Matua Ngahere is a giant kauri coniferous tree in the Waipoua Forest of Northland Region, New Zealand. The tree's Maori name means "Father of the Forest". This is second largest living kauri in New Zealand. According to some sources this is the largest kauri tree. Age is estimated to be for sure more than 1000 years old ... or even 4000 years old! I hope you will like it.

Hi Janek,
One of the benefits of lockdown are that there are no tourists around. The people in front are a necessary inclusion to demonstrate the size of the tree. I think Tane Mahuta (the God of the Forest) is the largest and oldest (est'd 1250-2500 years old).
