Good morning Europe and Africa. Good afternoon and evening Asia and Oceania. Sleep tight (or good morning for the early birds) North and South America.

One more of orange-red Laguna Colorada (sorry can’t help it). I waited a long time until some flamingos would fly into view and then ‘snapped the shot’.
It’s weird actually. I always considered Laguna Verde (see ‘panorama verde’) more beautiful. The sheer scale of both Laguna Verde and Volcan Licancabur, the deep blue colour, the agressive icy wind,… are more difficult to comprehend via photo alone. So I guess photos of Laguna Colorada are more ‘pre-chewed’ and therefore more easily considered beautiful. Mind you, it is stunningly beautiful (and the colours here are real)!! And 'stunningly beautiful' summarize Bolivia in total. But a very special place in my memory is reserved for the south western deserts. Being there is more than feeling alone on Earth; it is like feeling alone on Mars.

PS: Maybe an interesting technicality for some (probably not necessary for others…):
The horizon was bent a little and it tilted down towards the right. A hint:
- First rotate the photo so that the tilt is spread and the horizon tilts as much to the left as to the right.
- Secondly apply ‘spherize’ (I applied just -3) and the horizon bends to a straight line without deforming the image.

Hello Joris,
back to Bolivia hey!! ;) it seems like this country had a big impact on you, hasnt it?
You picture is once again perfect, excellent POV from rocks to volcanoe, the flying flamingoes are a nice detail too. superb colours. a stunning shot!! Lets hope Mars is as beautiful as this!
Thanks again for the spherize hint for the horizon. I didnt know that one.

Have a great evening or day..

Lu

Stunning shot - the colours here are beautiful, from the reddish-brown of the lake to the blue of the sky.
I am most impressed with your use of the spherize filter in PS, I hadn't been aware that it could be used like this - what a great approach!
My only concern here is the ghosting visible along the ridge of the mountain, presumably a result of the sharpening process?
Great work

Joris, wonderful capture - well composed and interesting colours! crystal clear and good placement of the birds....well done

Nice composition and colors. Birds add a good touch to the scene. Indeed looks like another planet.
Cheers,
Wellington

Ciao Joris

You are correct in saying:
And 'stunningly beautiful' Summarize Bolivia in total.
It is difficult to speak of the Laguna,
this is great for coloring,
The red color of its water to sediment due
to the red pigment of some types of algae,
colors ranging from brown to intense red.
Each Laguna biotype of your life with her.
A beautiful shot my friend ...

Sergio
