Laguna Hedionda, according to our guide one of the most colourful lagoons in southwest Bolivia. The water is just blue, which a almost a rarety there, but the variations are to be found on the algue covered shorelines, the patterns in the BG mountains and the pink hues of the flamingos.

Mud is gathered along the wet shorelines and kneeded and sunbaked to be used as building bricks. They are heaped in the fashion shown on the photo to air them.
Hope you like it. Thanks for having a look.

A high quality image Joris. There is superb depth, exposure appears optimum in highlighting the intense blues from the sky, the distant mountain is sharp and smooth, and the stacks of bricks on the f/g provide added interest. Well done. I should remember this place in the event I save enough $$$ for a future Bolivian visit. Greetings!

Great shot - such stark light... Great saturation and contrasts.. L really like these kind of shots Joris.

great shot here, the stacking echo the mountain.

Ciao Joris

Ah .. how much miss this place!
The area is accessible only by jeep. I was there on a journey of four days held in the town of Tupiza Salar de Uyuni. It is a cold, dark, wild and inhospitable place.
Great for photography and an incredible experience.
Beautiful photo my friend ..

dear Joris,
this contrast between the graceful mountain view and the heap of mud bricks is excellent.
the blue of sky and the smooth surface of mountains and ground are superb.
and I admire the worker who piled those bricks, he must have original artistic feeling.
and your capturing is great of course.
thank you,
