Astropyga pulvinata es un bello erizo de mar (sea urchin), endémico del Pacífico americano, distribuyéndose desde el Golfo de California, hasta Galápagos, en Ecuador. Recientemente lo registramos por primera vez en el Perú, en las islas Lobos de Afuera. Estos erizos viven sobre plataformas rocosas, cerca de la superficie, en bahías con poca corriente marina. Lo caracterizan su intenso color rojo y las líneas de puntos azules. Esos puntos azules son los que le dan el nombre de Genero taxonómico, pues recuerda a los astros (Astropyga)

Very interesting picture, Yuri, not something we see very often. These are beautiful creatures and you captured it very well. I don't know what type of camera you used to do this underwater shot but it came out quite clear and it is nicely composed making me a bit dizzy looking at all of the spokes. Well done & welcome to TL!

What a 'fireworks' display!!
I imagine that you are using an underwater spotlamp, as I believe I can see a central concentration of light and we lose it around the edges. Must be deep??

excelente foto, algo que jamas habia visto, colores muy buenas y tu macro genial, la verdad debe ser muy dificil tomar fotos bajo el agua y con esta claridad ya que el mar peruano es de un color tan oscuro y dificil de ver, buen trabajo,
