You may have seen the temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints during the Olympics a few years ago. The temple is a place for religious instruction and special ceremonies that do not take place in their churches. Among these ceremonies are weddings "for time and for all eternity." Church members believe that families can be together forever, if covenants with God are adhered to.

This is from a wedding I shot a few months ago. The temple is reflected in the large reflecting pool on the east side of its grounds.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, David, this is marvelous.
I've never seen such an impressive reflection.
OK - it's a little poor that we can't see more of this lovely couple - but the rest is so marvelous, I love it, thanks for sharing

Very interesting composition! I like its uniqueness...Nice colors and sharpness too...

Very lovely composition. The concept of including the temple's reflection in the water is very creative thinking. I bet the couple were happy with this shot. I also like the way the bridge and groom seem to have a light upon them. Very nicely done David. Also, the colours are good. (I remember you are coloured blind, so you did very well).

Hi David,

Great great POV, nice compo. The details and colours in the water reflection are really excellent. Good work!

tfs,

ferran

Interesting composition. I like the subtle colours. The fence breaks up to image nicely.

Joe

It is as if the sky extended its arms to the ground to bless this couple. Great photo filled of poetry and elegance. Cheer! Annie

Great angle Dave! I love that you included the entire temple in the reflection. Lighting is perfect too (orat least the PP is, if it was done after the fact).

That's touching! Using a reflection in a very clever way! It give the story directly!
Wonderfull!

Wonderful lighting creating a glow around the couple and the reflection is awesome! TFS,
Fran

Thanks for your visit David or else I would have misssed such a lovely picture. It is in fact stunningly done with the perspective mismatch of the lines of floor tiles and the church. The focus on newly wed is outstanding and so deftly done. An A class creation all the way. Thanks again
Mukesh

Wooow. I love that you have the newly wed couple there, adds a sense of scale to the reflections which leaves us wondering how big the church actually is. Very beautiful symmetry. Excellent work. Congratulations. TFS

A stunning image, David. Excellent idea to capture the temple only in its reflection, with the bridescouple on the far edge of the pool. They show perfectly how tiny we humans are ;o). I love it.
TFS.

Hi David, it's been a while. In spite of the almost forced symmetry in this one I like it. I suppose you could say that only the tiny difference between man and woman breaks the universal symmetry :-)lol. Well, anyway it's a photo you can be proud of IMO.

Hi David,
From time to time on the site, like you I suppose, but I want to express my feelings about this one. Many symbols about mariage into one single shot, that's what comes first. It's very well seen and could be a start for a philosophic digression. Superb realisation. I'll try to correct the vertical aberration due to the wide angle position, but it might not be as good!
Best regards
Jean-Michel

A remarkable image, David, and the lines in the reflection subtly draw the eye to the bride and groom. Good color and light control as well; I like how the reflection is brighter near the couple.
Although we were not able to make the trip, my husband and I received an invitation to a wedding ceremony at the temple in Utah last month.
All the best,
Karen

exceptional shot ! great effect !
kisanlove

Wonderful shot! I think that the fact the couple is so small in relation to the church perfectly illustrates the belief of God's power over man. I think you gave us a wonderful shot while also an insight into the belief structure of the couple as well.

Brilliant capture! Excellent composition and very good balance, perfect metering - your polariser has done its job well too.
All around great work!
