The Douglas DC-3 Dakota taking off from Duxford Airfield in July 2005.
This aircraft was the work horse for allied troop transport during WW2. It is "generally regarded as one of the most significant transport aircraft ever made", read more about in Wikipedia.

Pity about the bland sky but that is the UK for you,otherwise pin sharp nuceley exposed and a good well balanced composition

Nice capture of this old workhorse....DC-3. My dad use to fly the DC-3 as well as many other aircraft. Your photo brings back lots of memories. I sure love the sound of the old piston engines. TFS Janice
