Hawker Hurricane, here parked at Duxford Airfield in the 2005 Flying Legends Airshow. Often underrated in favor of the Spitfire , the Hurricane was the main victor of the Battle of Britain.
When this aircraft in the middle of the war were "coverted" from fighter to ground attack aircraft, it was fitted with heavy cannons and bombs to "kill" German armor in North Africa, and in Burma against the Japanese.
