Walking from the Pashupatinath temple to the central Kathmandu, I saw some preparations for a wedding. I stopped for a while because it was a lot of interesting things happening around and everything was so colourful, but the special attention to me attracted the young bride with this expression and some tears on her face. This face full of emotions was something I was thinking about a long time after that day. I spoke to some of my Nepalese friends and they told me that it is usual in Nepali culture to show some regret because of leaving parents home but the emotions from that very moment were chasing me for a quite long time.

Hi Goran,
You show us a woman so sad in the precise moment where she shoul be happy... how do you explain that? Is it fair to display her sadness as if it didn't belong to her, without any attempt to understand her?
(Some hours later)
Thank you for your precisions. I observe you added some explanation about your Nepalese friends, but I'm not sure it changes really something to the question...

Cool! Expresia fetei, culorile. Just GREAT!

Hi Goran
What a touching shot.
She is so beautiful ... I wonder how this would have looked if you had cropped more closely to her face? I find details like the hand behind her, and her wristwatch, are quite distracting from the focus of her expression.
Thanks for sharing

Buen testimonio de una cultura milenaria y valiosa!. Aunque por estas tierras dicen que el amor es la base del matrimonio, es evidente que es una construcciónb social y que cualquiera puede arreglar un casamiento!.
Un saludoi y excelentes colores!
