[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"I think that I shall never see anything so lovely as a tree." I forget who said that, but the thought came to mind when I came upon this magnificent beobab. The largest I have ever seen. The leaves are small, the bark is so soft you can almost write your name with your fingernail, and it looks like it was pulled out and propped upside down with the roots showing...but it is lovely!

Hello, Michael!

Wow! I've never seen a tree like that before. :-D
I like how it's the only one around....It adds a sertain touch to the photograph.

Happy new years, and best regards!

Bonjour Michael,
Très originale cette photo, une belle prise de vue.
Bravo !

Beautiful photo of a majestic and amazing tree!! I loved Senegal and I loved Baobab trees. They are not only multi-functional and medicinal but they make for the best shots and silouettes. Great colors with a rich blue sky and perfect balance of lighting and contrasts. I love the cropping and the compo. Sweet memories....TFS!

Great photo. I really like the character of the tree, its a unique study. What were the Photoshp processes used? Did you sharpen at all? Very interesting shot.

Hello Michael,
This does look like an upside-down tree, and I saw one like it in Disney World (Orlando, Florida) of all places. This amusement park had transported one of these trees from Africa to make its "Animal Kingdom" more realistic. Wonderful to see it in its own habitat.
Beautiful crisp and clear colors, and fine detail.
All the best,

hi michael,
nice shot,
blue sky looks lovely in the bg,
well composed with excellent pov,
tfs & regards

wow crazy tree...i bet it would look great on an overcast day or when its starting to get dark..very eerie. tfs

Nice capture Michael. Good sharpness, contrast and colours too. It's an eery looking tree. You might like to try converting this to b&w, it would look even better. I would have also liked to see your subject placed off centre and the cloning of the tree branches that have crept into your frame on the right.

Hello Michael,
This is an interesting specimen, and your point of view makes it really stand out!
Good background in the blue sky, subject is well framed...
Rich colours and fine details!

Hi Michael,
Working in Namibia and Botswana I have seen numerous Boababs and this spectacular image reminds me exactly of that, beautiful presentation.
