I know, its no Amstedam, London, New York or Paris. But I have to it with my own city. I've never really tried nocturnal shooting, but some of the photos that I saw here on TL really inspired me to go out and try it.

This is a view on currently the tallest building in Almelo, the Java Tower. Plans are to build more highrises in the near future.

I am not that happy with my POV, since the boat with the lights is blokking my view. But I didn't want to stand in the water. The boat with all the light is actually a pancake restaurant.

Shot in RAW with cable remote and mirror lock up, white balance adjustment to 3000K. Converted to JPEG. Levels, USM, frame and rezise.

Interesante vista con muy buenos detalles en una imagen que no es fácil obtener con esta calidad.
Un saludo, JL.

Hi Niek,
Nice composition. I kind of like the view of the boat with the lights and the highrise building on the back. Nice colors.

Nicely seen and made Niek,Could you stand on the gangplank of the boat and get a clearer view of the Tower, as for the straight horizons? well I don't think it really matters here,OK so it is not perfect however it still is an interesting image, and it shows us a particular aspect of life in Almelo, and hey you get to go out with a camera and play...;-))
Regards
Chris

Hi Niek

I've been away for a while and it's good to see a posting from you. I too have been considering doing some night shots and you work is inspiring me just like you were inspired. Nice, sharp work here. The leading line of the rope is a nice touch. Looks like you have a little distortion from the wide angle, but it could be my eyes. Nice work!!

SUPER!
I actually like the POV. Look at the fore-shortening on the rope. It's brilliant ;-) ;-)
Well done Niek.
Best regards, Daniel

Nice warm colors. The post and rope gives the image a foreground. Well done. Reid
