I was taking photos of a toy exhibition in Victoria Park, when I saw some children eating candy floss.

This little boy in particular seemed to be enjoying his. He just strolled along, oblivious to everyone around him.

He would just stop dead in his tracks every few feet, to take some more candy, causing adults walking behind to almost fall over him.

I thought I would try something new for me, and so I have to desaturated everything except for the candy floss.

i like the pink candy. pink is a good choice here as it suggests how appealing and irresistible the candy is to the boy!
but then there is too much noise and those big feet right above his mouth!

A good idea and a good example of selective desaturation. Nice fun picture Andrew.

I like the angle and the work you've done. The noise is kind of a neat effect, since the pink looks so "clear" with the bright white. Very contrasting. And, since this is TL, you could've spent even more time cloning out the shoes?... ;o)

Mmmm, Yammi :))) I remeber loooving Candly floss as a kid. I probably acted just like this young boy, stopped in my track to get a bite (or to steel from my dear sister after mine was finished :)). Nice post process work Andrew. The partial desaturation makes the candy look even more tastefull. I'd probably remove the feet and the shadow as well though. Theyare a bit distracting.

Yes...I like the PP you've done here. I also like the noise. The composition is very spontaneous and this is what makes the shot engaging.

Nice image Andrew.. I like it event though I am not somebody who does post processing..
Very nice.
I wish I would know clearly what we should post on each site. So far I am staying with TE..

What a lovely candit shot of this young boy enjoying his candy floss. I like the post processing work you did, as it brings a lot of emphasis on the candy floss. Well done.

When I was a little girl and went to fairs, this pink spot of candy floss was the first thing I always saw ! ;-)
Nice idea to have kept only this spot in color. Did you try Neatimage to remove a bit of noise ?

That has got to be the perfect scene to apply the "de-sat" technique to, Andrew. A great idea, and an endearing moment of the boy totally focusing on enjoying the cotton candy. A fun shot, well done.

Uau, great contrast you created here! The picture itself in colours should be nice to see too but this way there´s a lot more impact to our eyes!

Well done

Wonderful idea, Andrew, and an excelent work with the de-saturation tool. I like the angle and the POV and even the grains.I made a WS, with a tighter crop. I hope you'll like it. Very well done.

Very effective desaturation, a moment of childhood well captured and enhanced. i like the noise here. Great shot.

His expression is really fantastic, Orme!!! :-) So concentrated and preparing to savour the next bite of that pink sweetness...:-) Desaturation works fine here. Great job!

A good capture - for the boy and for you, Andrew. And you've reproduced his satisfaction very well, increasing it in your post-process. Well done! This is an example of what I think will be my benefits of having joined TL, to do things photo-wise I've never done - and never thought of doing. Thanks!

You did very well in observing his little game. The expression is very well catched, and the close framing helps to concentrate on that. A pink candy floss is just what you needed to put a colorful patch in your composition. Well done, Andrew.

Hi Andrew great shot and treatment - I must try this some day my self. Candyfloss seams to be a worldwide and old kind of sweet - for 30 years ago I even tryed to repair a candyfloss machine.

A alternative title could be "Sticky fingers" ;-)

What a wonderful idea. I will bear that in mind. It certainly has turned this little snapshot into an eye-catching masterpiece.
And although one starts out being fascinated by the candyfloss it is the boy's face that takes the prize in the end. And that is the way it should be I suppose.

Very well done edition, the grany effect worked well here.

sweet~~the moment was caught exactly in time!
the boy was riveting his attention all upon his favorate! and your desaturate is a good choice..
Avigur's work is in a common way to crop the usefuless element, but i prefer yours ,because i like the shadow of the others on the ground,it said,it's taken on the street....circustance is necessary sometimes

darn! now i have a craving for candy floss! pink one u know? hahaha... thanks for the memories...
