Between Bali and Lombok, caught without my tripod ,ISO 400, best I could do. People kept swimming and boating, nothing in the paper next day, that's life. Nice to be back.

Hi Nico,

Great capture of this awesome creature of mother nature. The dark and dramatic cylcone and the passenger ship make a great contrast. Like it's shouting: "don't mess with me!". Composition is good as well.

Regards,

Edwin

Salut Nico,
Bon retour sur TL !
Quel spectacle, avec ces tons sombres, l'effet dramatique ressort bien. Bien vu ce cadrage dans les nuages
Bonne journée

Hi Nico,

What a fantastic shot! I realy hope to see this creature of mother nature one day. But not to close!!

Alex

Creepy photo. Love the composition! I think the use of ISO 400 pays off man!

you did a great job nico. yeah, thats life :) thanks for sharing.

WOW, what a great capture
Marc

Very dramatic Nico, you did very well, it make that cruise ship look insignificant.

A great shot of mother nature.

Thanks

Yipes! Fantastic shot and frightening scene! Amazing calmness in the sea, yet intense menace evident in the spout. The layers of dark and light add to the contrasts and contradictions. The boat on the horizon helps make this picture a winner. Super catch!

Something excellent! Apart of rare event which you have caught, it's simply beautifully composed and presented. tfs

That is what I call a rare shot! Talking about being in the right place at the right moment. Well, not too close that is ;-). Nice catch!

Hello

Wow... Exellent compositon with this ship...
Good photo.

Stunning capture - just amazing! I hadn't seen this one. You got the composition just perfectly, and the metering is spot-on as well, the underexposure of sea and cloud have the effect of creating a forbidding, dangerous mood - and there's great balance between top and bottom of the frame.
Outstanding!

Hi Nico
This is just brilliant. The water spout is amazing enough, but the passenger ship underneath that menacing black canopy adds another, even more sinister dimension. The lights on the ship and the changing shades of lead in the sea enhance the effect even further.
Great stuff!
Stephen
PS Many thanks for your comments on 'Soft white'.

Very impressive to see. That boat must hurry to get away there.
Great catch

Extra shot, fantastic, good work, regards

I would be freaking out - but it must be amazing to see one of those with your own eyes...
Nice shot!
