Hi there!
I was in the Mpumalanga Province over the weekend, and drove by this beautiful yellow sea of sunflowers, right next to the motorway!
I HAD to stop and take a few snaps. Of course, it is actually illegal to park next to the motorway for a non-emergency, so I had to make it quick!
I think this is the best shot of the 30 or so that I took. I have a few without the power lines that I might include in a few days' time.
I played around on Photoshop a bit with the saturation and contrast, but didn't alter the original too much.
Hope you like it - let me know!

Hi Niel,
Normally, power lines are said to be a distraction. But what you did here, they are the point of interest, besides the beautiful flower carpets. I like that.

Nice pov, nice composition and nice details.

Hi Niel

Well spotted and captured from this POV. Very effective and contrasting images of the beauty of these many sunflowers with mankind's power cables overhead.

Nice capture and colours. TFS.

Hi Niel,
What fascinates me about this image is the strange matching of colourful flora and the harsh pylons...but it works. In fact the pylons - with their suspended cable holders appear almost like gardians. Very strange...I like it.
Best wishes,
Celina

What a clever play on "power"...sun power, flower power, and power power:) I think the horizon line could be leveled just a tad, but otherwise this is a most enjoyable and witty shot. The uniqueness makes a "powerful" impression! Well done:)

Well with all the power problems in SA we may well be heading towards flower power! LOL nice photo and nothing wrong with having the power lines add the interest!

Hi Niel,
I must have missed this one!
What a great POV to include these electricity poles to this marvelous sunflower field! You produced such a contrast between the beauty of Nature and a man-made eyesore!
Very good light management and color saturation.
Great work, my friend!
My best regards,

Francis Xavier
