Dear friends of TL,

Went for a trip to a mini zoo with my two little ones during the weekend. The place is called Lye Huat Garden, situated just across the highway from the place where I teach. Its a big park, not entirely huge - but its pretty much a one-stop-park consisting of a Japanese koi carp lake, a Tera Cotta mini museum, a mini landscape garden, a ceramic museum, a mini zoo, bonsai garden and etc. You can check out more about the park here : LYE HUAT GARDEN.

As I was approaching the wall enclosure where the tiger was, I can’t exactly see him, but I could hear his growl and the movement of the water down below in the other side of the concrete wall. Eager to see where he was, I sneaked my head through the horizontal handrails to take a look - and he was right down there looking at me from in the water and was making gestures as if to jump up at me. I screamed like nobody’s business and ran away from the enclosure. By then, only I realized the “No Putting Your Head through the Handrail” sign. hahaha.

My kids were with my husband at the bird cages.

It was still very early, and there wasn’t any crowd of people as well. So, no one exactly witnessed the scene. hmmm. Yup, I know. I’m not much of a good example.

But I did steal more shots of the handsome tiger - sneaking through the handrail again...more carefully. No one was watching anyway....

Come see my big cat! Hope you'll like it.

great picture! Just the unseen part.

i liked it..

Hello Sharina,

Sometimes accidents give us unexpected results!

This is a lovely shot of the tiger. The image is sharp and the details are clear. Despite the strong sun, the whites are nicely controlled!

I like the way the ripples surrounding the tiger encourage the eyes to move towards the back of the tiger and appreciate all the parts of the picture.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Excellent capture of this beautiful big cat.
lovely colours and details.well done.TFS.

Selamat Malam, dear Sharina.
Hahaha, Very funny store you wrote here. As good as your picture of this cute pussy.
Yesterday Meri asked me 'what's that noise'?, I told her in Malaysia they have Big Tygers, who like to make people screaming. haha
Hope you had a good dream, dear Sharina. (Dont dream, that you cant get your head out of the handrails.
Best wishes from Jan

hello Sharina

I can imagine you are very adventurous to risk being frightened into a shock by sticking out into the rails. With such a spirited photographer passion, I can foresee you will hunt for good shots sooner than later. This looks like the tiger is afraid of you rather than vice versa. Good mini zoo for a photo session.

I had a 10-year-cyber-friend called Sherina and yours is with 'a'.

tfs, bill

HI Sharina
So much for the myth about cats not liking water, cause this one looks quite comfortale being wet.

The whiskers, the head sticking out of the water, glint in the eye, and the tiny bubbles created by the tiger are all in focus and beautifully done.
Great shot.

Hi sharina

Wow! You are so lucky to capture the tiger from so close. I tried to get a shot of Siberian tigers in Hangzhou (in China) but they just wanted to sleep. Tfs!

Merhaba Myfriend Sharina...
Excellent job with beautiful photo, wonderful colors and a very beautiful shot...

Hi Sharina,

Hey! I guess we both got a thing for tigers huh? I wish I could have a shot like this. The tiger I shot was not going anywhere near the pond in their enclosure.

Gosh look at the sharp details on its face. Brilliant work capturing a photo of the tiger (with risks taken as I understand from your notes.). Composition is spot on.

Hello Sharina,

What a great capture! The colours are super
Lots of interest with the tigers head, his stripes and the ripples in the water.

gorgeous big cat.......nice details

i'm still waiting for the lens to arrive....another one sponsor sent me lens from UK..thanks for asking....

Wow, Sharina, you risked life and limb to capture this fine fellow. I am glad he did not decided to do more than growl and look at you. The results of your adventure are truly beautiful and I can almost read the expression “Can’t she Read?” in his eyes. Very well done.
Warm Regards

Hai sharina,

Mak oi, I'm totally scared of this tiger's eyes. You've put a nice composition, good clarity and colour. Well done my friend. (^_^)

I've looked at this photo a few times, and there's still something about it that makes me jump; his/her eyes and the tilted head moving through the water at once conveys beauty and danger.
Very impressive work to have caught both of those feelings.

Assalamualaikum Sharina,

from her nice pose it seems that she loves her photo to be taken. very nice eye contact. colour and clarity are excellent too.

Selamat mengerjakan ibadah puasa, semoga mendapat lailatul qadar.

WOW!!! just amazing... really magic and fantastic momment... congratulations for this very great image!!... TFS...
