Ahhhhhhh what a beautiful place to sit and photograph and wonder about the stories of the people who cross your lens. The umbrella is a great touch, expression well captured and the BG perfectly adjusted. Bravo

Being that I have met a few people on the internet, your story did have me going.... I know two couples who met and married after meeting on the internet. You are such a good storyteller!!
Any other color umbrella would not have had the same effect! This is terrific with the bright colors, blurry background, etc...
His note says: "The guy with the camera is a secret agent, watch out for him, evade him soon, but buy him a strong expresso first!"

you tell a very nice story which makes this shot interesting!
Although sharpness seems a bit offset the picture supports your story and gives the viewer a 'deeper knowledge'.

Zucht - het was zo'n mooi verhaal - ik zat er helemaal in and then you spoiled it all by writing an unhappy end!
John prachtige foto - doe in het vervolg maar een sprookje en laat ons lekker raden naar de waarheid.

Hi John, great imagination, great shot! I like the sharpness and colours of man and his umbrella in contrast with the blurred bg.
Perhaps your funny story is the reality, why not?

Very Lovely story, haha
I was expecting, you as a Hair'designer', was more interested in good looking Ladies with the latest Hair dressing.
Well, I am.
John, you wrote you wanted to do something different with your hobby ? (photographing)
What about, putting series on picasawebalbums?
Every photographer like to show the world their pictures, i do.
Have a look at http://picasaweb.google.nl/janvanderklugt. (cant get it linked in 'blue') sniff.!
I've uploaded there 3 series of Malaysia pictures, aswel 1 serie with Swans at front door.
Its easy to upload and to see it in large format slideshows.
I do have series on other sites (snapfish), like from Suid Afrika, but this one from Google is much better.
Please have a look at it. Sit and enjoy.
Groeten van Jan

Because fantasy is a great gift...
To imagine, to write stories...
same for me, my dear John, I often like imagine, sitting in a restaurant, lifes of other people.
Last, but not least, you brought much more things of Capri, of its "idea" than all those "Faraglioni" and "Villa Malaparte" shots!
Thanks a lot!

Hello cher Feere, nice to see you back and a lovely story you made up! Could be real :)
Nice portrait of the gent, well done on the blur around the sunbrella. And the constrating colours makes this image strike! Very nice and well done!
I am happy that you like your new camera. And this seems to be a great zoom. What is the smallest aperture of that zoom?

It's another proof that body language is more powerful than just words . .
You should write a script about this story and send to Steven Spielberg . . ha ha . .
What a lovely story and it's a real one . .
Great shot to tell the story . .

I love the story, you had me all misty eyed till the end. I also love the great colour you have shown here. I have saved my pennies and it is the 40D or if I wait long enough the 50D that has held my interest. If I had your talent the decision would be easier. Wonderful presentation.

Hi John, You had me roped in 100% with the story, little sad it is fiction!! Good clear sharp photo. I have seen the 40D and aspire to one one day, only concern is it is a fair bit heavier to lug around than the 400D? Good to hear about Capris, what a lot of lovely places there are in this large, but shrinking world on which we live. TFS. Murray.

I like your post!
you introduce artistically beautiful and original,
an incredible lightness in the treatment of the image and visual.
I find fine and delicate this scene, without any other intention.
A beautiful magic touch and superb post.
I like this!
Some fine photo taken with your new gear.
What love about this one is that superb focus on the man and his umbrella.
All background blurred for extra effect - this is great!
It looks like the man was protected by the umbrella.
Thus it reminds me of a Life Insurance company in the UK, which I think used to have a colour umbrella as their logo... anyone remembers it?

Tsja.
Mooie plaat ..... maar ja ..... die scherpte hč .... ;-)
