I've been dreaming about my trip to Switzerland for a while and when it finaly happenned I left Sweden with several goals, including the one to make a photograph that reminded me of the turist catalogs one sees before the trip. So I went around the country taking photos of peaks mountains, churchs,train...
Now the tale: The Bernina Express is one of those very famous pamorama trains that cross the mountains of Switzerland and totaly amazes the passengers. Those little red ones travel from Chur to Tirano (Italy), through as many tunnels and bridges as one can think about. The highlight of the trip is when the train reaches the highest peak, Ospizio Bernina at more than 2000m high, without cogwheels.

... and the photo: this photo was taken when the train was passing through the Kreisviadukt (the spiral viaduct) in Brusio. It was a "brochure moment", and i just thought "more turistic than that, just the cows :)))"
Afterall i can say that I had a very nice trip ombord this red little one.

The lower part of the phoro is a bit unsharp and maybe a more attent eye can catch come strange reflex... that's because this photograph was taken through the glass window, with the train moving around...

Take care, Stef

a photo worthy of a brochure indeed Stef! i've been feeling pretty bad lately so sorry i haven't been doing much critiquing.. this is really lovely! very nice composition and colours and the sharpness is great considering you were shooting through a train window! they must keep them pretty clean in switzerland :-) some of the most beautiful sights i've ever seen were through a train window in italy... made me want to jump off and stay there forever! well.. hopefully when i go back i'll find a safer way of returning to those sights and of course photography is a way that special things can always stay with you ^_^

well done dear! and thanks so much for the lovely letter... i'll get back to you as soon as i can :-)

wow, Stef, I'd say you made a great catch, especially through the window of a moving train. Good job, and you met your goal! You might consider just cropping a good chunk off the bottom -- it gets rid of the blurry lower right, removes the rocks from the left corner, and gives you a pretty nice horizontal orientation with the back part of the train cutting right through the frame. Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. regards, ck

Hey Stef, this look so much like the one in the movie of Harry Potter, with the red train... excellent shot! The colours just striking, good composition and well captured... very well done, thanks for sharing!

Fantastic shot! Great POV and composition. The colours are great. Maybe I would try to reduce the sharpness to reduce the details just a bit. Just a bit busy with all these details. But this is a great picture, it caught my attention right away.

You were at the right time at the right place (or the right seat in the train).

TFS, Yan :)

And it is a ''Poster photo '' Stef !
Could be a commercial/advertisement photo
