Now here's to a new theme - Pets & Owners! This is my daughter with her Yorkshire Terrior (Schumie is his name by the way). When I saw the two of them together like this, I thought "twins" - I am sure I have heard many people say that the owner of a dog can very closely resemble him/her? Do you suppose this may be true??

Tech: I really tried something different with this one. It was taken without a tripod, so a little blurry as there was no flash either ( a real quick "snap"). I sharpned in PS, adjusted tone (it was too "red"), then ran through NeatImage with some abnormal settings. It looks like something different - not quite sure what, but I kind of like the effect for something different. Tell me what you think??

Oh very nice (both :-) and the capture as well - yes - its an old truth as you write in your note - and a great idea for a theme. I will try to spot some for this.

I like the moody light - remind me of my intro photo here - taken on a restaurant in Austria - And ok - I can recognize the touch of NI, but like it still.

Thanks for sharing Judy.

This is a superb portrait.. I really like it a lot.
The picture is great.
and your daugther is beautiful..

I read an article about it. A british university made a research and said that pet owners choose pets which look like them...

This is really a great potrait Judy, and your dauther is very beautifull, she has lovely eyes. The post process you did works really, really well with the over all mood in this picture. I would not have thought that this was "just" a snap shot. To me, it looks very planed. The two faces making a nice diagonal compo and both Schumie and the guitar gives away a litle bit about the person on the photo.

Congrats to a great shot Judy!

I’m sure you already know this, but your daughter has an interesting modeling potential. Her eyes and her expression are sustaining the composition as its main elements. I like the post process you used, as well as the cropping of the image. I have my doubts about the guitar, though… it doesn’t add anything to the composition, imho.

Beautiful, Judy! I like the way the colour cast warms the image. It could have been sharper and there are some artefacts, but the whole is still really good. The photo certainly tells a lot about your daughter, and the inclusion of part of the guitar helps. Yep, there's certainly a resemblance as far as the hair goes, and both will make excellent models!

Very nice portrait, Judy. It'd become a star portrait IMHO. I like the yellow tone in it and the blru. It turned out really good!

Your daughter is really beautiful, she looks like her mother. This is a really good shot, it would be perfect for a Fido cell phone advertisement. I like the post processing a lot, it gives a very modern feel to this photo, which fits well for a young woman.
Now there is something that annoys me a little, it's the fact that the top of her head is cut. I makes me feel as if she has something heavy on top of her. I wonder if a different crop with help or balance this, i will make a try at is.

A beautiful couple, very interesting composition, maybe slightly blured, but the overall result is great!!! well done, and congratulations for such a beautiful daughter.

I like the smoothing effect on your daughter's (very pretty) face, but I'm not so keen on the vivid yellow tone. Well-composed.

Beautifully done, Judy! Two great models you captured here, and the guitar makes a fine diagonal besides them. The post-processing came out with very splashy colors, and I thoroughly enjoy the result. Never tried "NeatImage with abnormal settings", looks like I should ;-) Nice work.

Great effect here. Well-worth the experiment. BTW, she's also pretty.

You have a very beautifull daughter, and the photo does her justice.
I like the outcome very much. It looks both poetic and innocent.
the hue is not even the most favourable for this feeling, but it still works well.
I´m not gonna tell you wot we call those dogs... :)

Very nice to see your daughter, Judy... You framed her and Schumie very well. colors and this special effect are very nice. Well done!

I really like the look and feel you got with the post-processing. By the way, while you were at it you could possibly have cloned out the background in the top left corner a bit, because that is the only (really small) thing I can find wrong here. A closer crop might also work. Otherwise its very good. Interesting subjects and a great caption. Well done!

very nice composition Judy, you have a very beautiful daughter!

whats that? your self????

Nice PP work, Judy. I would have cropped closer on the left (as you have cropped her hair, crop the guitar as well) and a little at the bottom and gone for a square presentation.
Is the dog really named after the fastest man in the world? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Great photo Judy.

I like the expresion of your sister and color tones.

Well done

Another fabulous portrait. Excellent interpretation of the mentioned theme.

...and the age issue goes on and on :-D. I promise I will never mention it.

Your daughter and your dog are very beatiful..

Le traitement donné à cette photo lui donne une allure un peu hors de l'ordinaire. C'est une bien bonne façon de récupérer une photo trop peu précise. Vous avez fait un très bon travail de récupération. Votre fille est très jolie et son chien magnifique...

Nice photo! Are you!?

Beautiful and sensitive.

congratulations judy. you have a beauuuuuuuuuuutiful daughter. lovely pet too. i just wish it was a bit better in quality (ie, tripod or flash used), but its hard to pre-arrange things and better not to miss a quick snap at least. well captured.
