watching the tourists, a continual flow of tourists, everyday, and all the years, again and again, from all over the world... she was at the window since near a half hour
todays PP technique for black conversion is the simplest, just desaturate

Good morning Jean,
The framing is exquisite and classical. The b&w rendition suits the image quite well. It has a smooth look and it is well exposed. Sharp enough to see details of granny's veined fingers. My compliments...Danilo

Hi Jean,

Cela ci est la raison que je voudrais m'habilie en la grande ville d'Atlanta. J'aims voir les gens et ecouter les sons de la ville.

I like her serious look as if she is concentrating on the people or what they are saying and doing. The window is a nice natural frame for her portrait. Nice simple background.

thanks for sharing, Lisa (Padon my French grammar. I have forgotton a lot. ...I'm listening to Radio France to practice my skills. ;D) Lisa

Very nice composition, the BW also works well. TFS, Giap.

Hi Jean
Everything is sharp...nice and in depth of field. How did you get that with such a low F.Stop?! Excellent B/W mode. Well done.
Regards, Alireza.

This really catches my eye, JC. The composition is superb and the character in her face is wonderful. I wonder what she thinks as she watches. How much has she seen in her life that we will never know? Perfect in the Back and white. Bravo
Warm Regards
Wanda

Hi Jean,
Bet she's seen it all too.
Good conversion and composition here, looks great and feels just right.
Interesting dynamic in how strongly she's holding the window frame; for balance or fear of falling out perhaps?
Anyway, very good work here.
TFS,
Wilt

Bonjour Jean-Christophe
Très jolie scène de tous les jours bien captée avec force détails. Les contrastes sont juste comme il faut et le passage au noir et bland était une bonne idée.
Bravo
Serge

Hi Jean,
I like this picture. I see emotion, I see the familiar elders face ... like nothing new for them, nothing to surprise them, everything has been seen, felt or experienced. Still there is something that attracts them: new people, younger generations with their exuberance and enthusiasm are recalling about their youth. Clear focus on the subject. The helping hand on the edge of the frame is completing the message. Well done! TFS, Stefan

Hello Jean Christophe,
a powerful image and poignant portrait. The woman seems quite sad or perhaps lonely. I woud prefer this if you had managed to take this from a front on angle. Of course, this is not always possible and we are forced to shoot where we can. Your black & white treatment works well and everything is nice and sharp.
This reminds me of a recent photo of mine posted to trekeart,; see here

Beautiful daily life here
typical old woman looking of balcony
perfect light and black and white

Je trouve qu'il y a beaucoup de similitudes entre ta belle photo et celle de mon chien à Venise (attitude, front plissé, regard vers le bas...marrant!
