Greetz from KL

Hi folks,
Of I am, staying in Kuala Lumpur (KL) for a short while on my way to New Zealand. Arrived yesterday after an uneventful flight from AMS to KUL.

Bought a 0,45 wide angle extender (got ripped of, my fault) but tried today some pictures, this one I took e few hours ago from the well known KL Twin Towers. Must be honest: They are amazing! Unfortunately the bridge is close on monday, so it might be I will visit them tomorrow again, my hotel isn't far from these buildings.

Anyway, with the simple "photo filtre" program I did some adjustments (contrast, brightness, crop and sharpening) Add frame afterwards. It might be a challenge for you to improve the image by using the perspective crop for example.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm preparing to fly from KUL to AKL (Auckland).

See ya later pals!

For the enthousiasts the EXIF file. Picture taken with the 18-70mm lens with 0.45x wide angle extension:

Hi Hans

You've arrived! Nice arch frame over the Petronas towers. Malacca is also worth a visit, if you have a day or 2 to spare. Good colour & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Hansie
Greetings to you too.
You have positioned the high buildings well in the scene. They have come out nice and clearly. Good POV, showing the buildings behind the palms.
Nicely done - it looks very green and damp there.
See you soon
Janice

Hallo Hans,

groetjes, Marga

Hi Jan,
Interesting shot of this new symbon of moder Malasya. Clever usage of arch as frame and DOF's support.
Very nice post.
Saude e Paz,
Raimundo

Anneke

Lovely shot here Hansie I really like this angle and your lens has taken in the detail well. Nice low lighting and I like your PP work here too.

Kind regards Helen

hello Hans

Good to know you are in KL and enjoying the scenery. You could ask about shopping for camera accessories and I could have given you some contacts to get good prices.

Too bad I cannot be in KL to meet you, but I suppose you have seen the landmark towers in the day using wide angle extender to include everything around the towers and this is a must-have photo for any visitor to KL.

tfs, bill

Hans, the impressing presentation in the natural framework. I can see that you went for the new camerawork and new impressions. Congratulations.

In Auckland zullen o.a.

Hi Hans,
Your wide angle extender sure works...but I tried a WS for you, got everything straightened out OK, but there wasn't enough resolution left after the manipulation.
I think it would be fine if you do the perspective manip before downsizing for TL.
I think your frame adds to the 'fisheye' look, well done.
I thought it best not to post a WS.
See ya Wednesday...OOPS! I mean Thursday.
Pete.

Those towers are amazing Hansie! Really nice work, but I find the FG dark and the sky too bright, Maybe more levels? Maybe a small fill flash?? I can't wait to see more!
B-)

With this frame the towers look small…
