HPP- Heavily Post Processed

Searching through some old photos I found this 4-year old photo and decided to work on it for today’s theme – Heavily Post Processed – by turning it into a water-colour painting.

I went through a lot of filters and ended up using Xero Graphics, Photoshop’s Compatible Plugins which you can download from here:

I enjoyed playing around with Xero but I’m sorry I can’t remember what actual filters I used on this photo.

I like the results, and I think I’ve ‘painted’ a good painting here – I only just wish that it was as easy to paint on canvas as it was to do it on the computer.

Thanks Tracey for the Theme - it's a good one!

I've added the original as a Workshop

I like this one Janice, the bold brush strokes suit the sails well.
I like also the touches of red throughout...nice.
The WS is too busy, this has some oomph, for the want of a better word.
I've tried playing with those filters, but never liked the results.
I should try the BOLD way.

Hi Janice !

I like this effect but I think that the sky is too neat/flat comparing the rest. Maybe you should apply something more on that zone.

sincerly yours,

Hello Janice,a touch of impressionism here I think[?]
A good subject for the PP work, the time spent on processing was well worthwhile.
Lovely colours and good composition.I agree, I too, just wish that painting was this easy!
Tfs, regards Jean.

hi Janice
like this one you have made a work of art tfs
regards bryan

Beautiful Janice! Very nice High PP work. This is pretty, very much like a water color. How beautiful, you live in a wonderful place! Nice work on this for the theme!

Hey, Janice,
now I really like this. Even in the posted version the lighting is fabulous. Wonderful color, beautifully balanced and I love the three distinct elements. I was glad you posted the original, too, and I really like what you've done with the PP. That is just excellent. Great choice of shots for the theme. Many thanks and warm regards,

I really like the effect. The ws is nice but this is art! You should ask Donna to paint it for you :)

Great idea..

Hello Janice,

Like most good paintings, this looks better if viewed a short distance away.
I really like how it is possible to see the brush strokes, which when viewed at a distance, merge into the tones to create relief. I must admit, this one creates a more relaxed atmosphere than the original. I would certainly like it on my wall.

Have you been inspired?
Will you be using paints and an easel next?

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Very good Janice, I think I will have to look into the xero-graphics.
I still don't have a photo for the theme :)

Thanks for joining

Hi Janice,
You made a true painting with this photo! I like the watercolors and impressionist aspect you gave at it!
The white veils against this blus sky are so appealing! Colorful and vivid image very appropriated for the theme! Bravo! Annie

Hi Janice,

This an exemplary example of painting who did you study under lol. Seriously it is lovely and very realistic. Can you tell me if the plug in would work in Paint Shop Pro. TFS.

Dear Janice,
I'm not sure about the frame (starting negative :-) But the HPP almost like van Gogh great idea well executed. The sails at the beach are well shown, perfect modern Kiwi art :-)

i wonder if this filter would work in psp. makes super art work i have coral painter essentials which does the same thing but never thought to put them up here.
are you a member of ephotozine.com a must for the serious photographer.

I like the strong colours and the composition and very simple foreground and the background that makes the picture outstanding. Well done. Regards, Balwant

I like the result too Janice , an excellent painting in watercolors, an idea that wonderfully suits a scene like this imo , a Post-Processing that has brought your original picture to a successful outcome and a very fine contribution to the Theme, i like this more than the WS , good work ,

Hi Janice,

Excellent PP work, looks like a water
