Doubtful Sound

When entering the coach which would bring me to the Doubtful Sound I asked the driver: Īs this the one to the Doubtful?" His answer was funny and spot on: "For sure it is!". Anyway, my trip to this very beatyful part of New Zealand was awesome. Great views, dispite the cloudy weather. The clouds were a wonderful part of the panorama's. Here the view from the Wilmot pass, the only access to the sound by road.

The trip ove rthe sound was gorgeous. Maybe I will post some pictures from this trip.

PP work: adjusted contrast, saturation and brightness. Resized and sharpened. Add small frame.

WOW! A killer shot Hansie! Excellent view here. There is nothing doubtful about this! It's awesome! I love the lower light. I see just a teenie OE in upper right corner in the clouds, but I forgive..B-)
Did you get my emails...they are very interesting eh?
B-)

Hoi Hans!!

Captain James Cook sighted the entrance to Doubtful Sound on his first voyage to New Zealand in 1770. He called the place Doubtful Harbour. He did not enter the fiord because he was doubtful of his exit back to sea.

Great photo Hans, has a forboding, mysterious look to it.

regards

Ralph

Kia ora Hans - and good morning from Aotearoa.
The clouds do make this scene look even better. Even the ripples on the water show up - super image MF.
I am so pleased you liked visitng this area of NZ.
Did you visit the power station at Manapouri as well?
Janice

Hi Hans, Your photographs from NZ are truely stunning, better than many we see on posters and calenders etc. I suggest you approach some publisher there and see if they can use some of your images. This POV is good as it shows such a length of the waterway but is still clear/sharp from front to back. As an ex-Kiwi, i like this series a lot. Good job, as they say in the classics. Murray.

what i noticed first is the tree trunk, 2nd the river and than the surrounding.. fantastic work again.. view to die for.. beautiful shot, Hans.. love this colour.. good one..

regards, terry

Fantastic PoV Hans, very dramatic shot
cheers

Hoi Hans.
Groeten, Jan
