[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We spent 4 days in Venice, during the famous Carnival.
What a splendid event, and so... calm, so dignified. In Belgium everything is so utterly nervous, so exaggerated... A world of difference!

Downside, of course, was the crowd. It was nearly impossible to take portraits of these beautifully costumed persons without disturbing people in the background.

When we were queueing to visit the Doge's palazzo I noticed this scene, and in the short time I had before other tourists blocked my view I could capture it.

Tech talk

Near in-camera compo, just a little rotated.

Adjustment layer for curves.

Downsized, framed & signed with a couple of home-cooked PS actions.

Carnival-tourism pure, hi Frank,
I always had the wish to visit Venice for Carnival - must be impressive to see all the wonderful masks and dresses.
Thanks for your shot, greetings

Very well shot...you have caught the classical mood so well. In fact the only give aways are the wall and the floor or else the picture would have easily gone off a reproduction of classica painting. TFS Frank

Hi Frank

That's a nice shot from Venice. Posing and capturing both, the model and the fans, at the same time. Great colors and very sharp details

Best wishes
Argiris

Grt,
Pedro

Bonjour Frank,

I just had the same experience recently! It is so tricky to take such pictures.
You, you were lucky enough to have some room to move and get a good position to shoot.
I like your dual composition photographers (several)/subject (one), and background (wide)/foreground (close). Everything is at its place and well-balanced.

Adding your signature like a graffiti on the wall is quite strange but somehow funny.

Au plaisir,

Damien.
