[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This has been a very difficult week for me, my daughter moved away and will be starting college in Sept. She has been a GEM of a daughter and such a wonderful sister, granddaughter and friend. I have spent most of the week in tears. With her, of course, go my grandbabies and a great son-in-law. I've taken so many pictures of her over the years, but she's one of those people that freeze up when they spot a camera, this time I snapped before she could react. The next picture I took of her she was looking rather cranky and I think telling me what I could do with my camera..... anyway, I decided I would post this one.

Hi Karen,
I will be a mess when the time comes and my girls leave home, probably even more so than my wife. You managed to capture a smile and a beautiful expression. I really like the blurred BG here. Take care.

Hi Karen,
Very nice photo of your daughter, she's quite the looker ;). Excellent composition and shallow DOF, the lighting looks spot on too. The only gripe I have here is with the sharpness - I think it could do with a bit of a boost. I did a quick workshop by bumping the sharpness up by 138%. A subtle change, but makes quite a difference in my opinion - Let me know what you think :). Other than that, I really like this image.

Hello Karen! Wonderful girl, amazing young woman. Fantastic smile. Excellent eyes. You are very happy mother. Good luck!

Hello Karen,

What an emotional time for you and your daughter.
She knows how you feel and will keep in touch ... web cams, videos, mobiles are a substitute, but I know how you feel. As parents, most of us have this split at some time, sad though it is!

I lovely portrait to frame and to call up each time you browse your website.

All the very best,
Bev :-)

hello Karen,
this is such a lovely, natural portrait.Sharp and with a nice bokh. But the most importantthing here is that you have captured something of your daughters personality and character and I can uderstand why you have been upset at her leaving. That your grandchildren are moving away too is an added sadness. I understand as my own grandchildren live five hours drive away and because I am not yet retired we don't see them asoften as I would like and is them so.
