Decided, due to the rain & grey skies to visit a small fishing village ,located south of Vancouver,in the hope to capture some moody shots of a few of the fishing vessels that are at moorage there. This particular boat has been moored at Steveston Village ,under renovations for a few years & it's interesting to see the changes to it. Not sure if I should have cropped a little off the left side, not sure if there is a little to much space between the fishing boats & the left edge? Used Adobe cs2 to do a few small touches before downloading.Image>Levels>Adjust>Hue & Sat,thought the water to be a little too green so reduced it a little, the Dodge tool used on the bow of the boat as it was too dark & lacked some detail,& finally Filter>Sharpen>Smart sharpen 35%.I duplicated image & used Topaz to see how that effect compared to original & put in my WS,I prefer this image.

Hi Ronald
Very good composition and PP.
Congratulations.
Janusz

Beautiful picture, I like your color-contrast settings.

Hi Ron,
Very powerful shot my friend! The low lying clouds seem to give this shot a lot of attitude. The ripples add to this effect too - Good idea with the composition. I like this one better than the WS too, the colours seem more believable and effective. The details look nice and sharp here, well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Ronald,
the image has real clarity and depth, this one is much better than the WS in my humble opinion
cheers
Jack

Hello Ron,
You were correct in that the clouds offer even lighting throughout the scene as there are no high and low areas of contrast, and the clouds offer a sense of stormy seas, as the appearance of these ships attest to. A great angle to highlight the large vessel.
Have A Great Week Ahead...
Steve

Bonjour Ronald,

Nice seascape. Image is very hard to define in time. Probably because of the vigneting around that remind picutre of the old time. Nice compostion and exposure revealing good details in shadows as well as in highlights. Good work and TFS.

Alain

Nice work Ron - good sharpness and the vignette really makes the boats stand out clearly.. Good way of dealing with a dull day.

Hi Ron,
Missed this posting, sorry. Excellent capture of this classic boat, it's a ship such as a ship should be :-)
Th sky is an important part of the image and you captured it well! Maybe tighter crop might have improved it, but overall a wonderful posting!
Hans
