[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Huntly is surrounded by rich farmland and beautiful lakes, The town is very well known for its large coal-fired power station, situated on the western bank of the Waikato River. Huntly power station is New Zealand's largest thermal power station, situated in the area which also is New Zealand's largest producer of coal, producing over 10,000 tonnes a day.I Took this as the sun was going down and i wanted to catch the sun spreading across the grass. This is not an HDR!

Magnificent photo. Love the brooding clouds and the colour and light. Possibly needs a little foreground sharpening but still a great image.

I went to an open day while the power station was bing constructed and have some images from that day somewhere!

Well done, great photo.

WOW amazing clouds
nice exposure, few OE spots
Do you shoot in RAW? can help with over and under exposure spots

Ciao Darren, impressive landscape with fantastic sky, splendid light and colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Darren

Superbe photo avec cette lumière du soleil qui illumine les nuages par dessous!!
J'aime beaucoup

Despite the pivotal point of the picture the tree positioned in the middle, you have managed lovely asymmetry here Darren. The sun shining through the tree is magnificent and the low clouds are lending quite some drama to your composition.
Not an HDR? That's a surprise!

That's amazing, I love the "almost geometric" effect created by the colours, which really lead us through the image.
The exposition is really effective, I like the OE on the horizon which makes a nice contrast with the detailed power station on the right.

Hi Darren,

Lovely image, terrific light and shade, the underlit clouds and the shading on the foreground field really make this image.

Great colors and light.
Beautiful clouds.
Regards Zoran

Hi darren, clever camera settings to hunt this dramatic sky and land. Great!

On thiumbnail, it looked nice. But, in larger view, I somehow doubt the dynamic range shown, without explaining how this was done. I can understand why you say this is not HDR, but I can imagine a composite work.

Somehow, you seem to have managed the shadows, but you still need to do some more dodging to draw more questions about your "not an HDR" claim.

BTW, you've blown the highlights, IMO. Also, the physics of light and lens tech seem to support the the suspision that this is not a simple shot.

Perhaps, you may wish to share more of your technique, so TL forumers may learn.

For now, I am neutral.

Hi Darren
this looks like a painting.
great work of art.
marvelous dramatic colors.
nice scenery, well composed.

This is what I would describe as a surreal image - great variety in light and shadow, all very clear and sharp! Simply fabulous work with this one exposure! Although there is a little haloing around the 2nd tree from left - did you use any dodging or burn techniques?

Fantastic piece of artwork here Darren! WELL seen, excellent comp, I feel, even though the tree may be centrally located, everything seems to bloom out from there! What a SKY!! A killer shot, you will get an award for this one!

Icredible atmosphere Darren i think it could be even a bit more dark to get the real drama mood in the picture, perfect.
