Good Morning Everyone,

This morning's post follows my theme of exploring areas close to my home. This is about five miles from my home village.

Here, the flattened colours detail the recent emergence from a deep covering of snow.

There are a number of quite high hills in N.E. Lancashire. After climbing to the top of this one, quite near to Pendle Hill, the views were wonderful, looking down on the old farms, the tree plantations and, in the distance, Upper and Lower Ogden Reservoirs.

I have always found the farmhouses, in this area, to have a cosy knack of snuggling into the hilside. The builders were canny people and took every advantage that the countryside had to offer.

The real beauty of this area is that it has not been discovered by the tourists. It is not like The Lake District or The Yorkshire Moors where parking and quiet walks are at a premium. Here you can walk for hours, seeing only a few like-minded people. Oh ... what have I said!

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
Very nice idea to explore your neighbourhood! Great landscape with mild hills and nice colours. The placement of the house is excellent. With this photo, you invited us to go down and walk to the lake... Well done! Have a nice weekend my friend,
Catherine

Nice shot Bev - always a great view in that part of England.. Personally I'd incline the camera up a fraction to get a little more of the wood at top in as it perhaps looks a little cut off but otherwise a fine sharp posting and the f14 delivers a good DOF..

Cheers
DAvid

HI Bev,
Yes, we go back to the beautiful scenery of the English landscapes just emerged from the whitness of snow that covered the country this year.
Very nice shot from an interesting POV.
Lovely composition with a considerable number of old farms spread throught the hills.
Very warm lighting and accurate sharpness.
An elegant frame to complement this lovely composition.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello Bev.

What a beautiful bucolic scene, perfectly captured. I see what you mean about the flattened colours which add to the charm of the photograph. I must admit to not being a great fan of many HDR images which often have garish, over-saturated colours. The soft colours here look extremely faithful.

You have also composed the photograph perfectly, well in accordance with the Rule of Thirds.

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

Hello,

mangigique vue sur cette belle campange, le maions dans la pente, ce jaune de l'herbe d'hiver, la colline et le champs qui font de très belles formes, fantastique.

bravo et amitié

Nicou

Love this veiw, you cetainly had a climb to get there. Nice lines as we look across the landcape and love the old buildings.

As you come out of winter we are entering autumn and the leaves are just starting to drop.

Thanks

Ralph

Hi Bev :))

This is simply a superb work, showing a great golden landscape with a house which you have able to put off-centered in this marvelous work. It can be a great motive for a potential painting even.

You have a great eye to observe such country side scenarios! well spotted!

best regards,
Paras

Hello Bev,

It's a nice place, very quiet.
Hopefully it is not overrun with tourists.
I like the fields in the distance, excellent graphics of the natural countryside.
A beautiful harmony of colors, Lovely presentation.
Very good pov for this nice country landscape.

Have a great and happy week end
Kind regards

Bonsoir Beverley,

Un superbe tableau dans un encadrement divin.

Quelle nature insolite et le passage de la neige dit-on qu'elle renforcera la pousse plus verdoyante.
C'est une capture excellente et bien sauvegardée des touristes.
Mes compliments.
Beau dimanche joyeux.

dear Beverley,
a beautiful view shot of very attractive hill,
pale colours show me the beginning of spring really,
the light is warm and tender and the air feels so fine,
distant ponds look beautiful blue, and those are well contrasted with fore white house,
thank you for your wonderful shot,
Akihisa

Hello Bev,

The rolling hills are beautiful, and the house is rightfully placed in the frame. I do like your composition and exposure. My next door neighbor and her husband are currently touring Lancashire on bikes. I loaned her a p&s cam and would be so interested in seeing her photos when they return. My best regards.

Hello Bev,
a perfectly composed view. I like that you have been able to make an attractive picture from colours that are so seasonally muted.I especially like the bird's eye view of what seems a lilliputian framhouse across the valley.
best regards,
Bev

Good afternoon Beverly

Now the winter is over, the spring arrive and become green in the valley. The nature came back again. Good details from a high point.

Hello Beverley, a beautiful vista.I too love the way that the farmhouses snuggle into the landscape. This is a good PoV with plenty to hold the eye of the viewer.
Very good sharp quality.
As always an interesting note.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Bev, this is just so pleasing to the eye, so peaceful. What a beautiful contryside you live in indeed. Who would not want to visit it, including the farmhouse well positioned in the FG and giving scale to the whole impression. TFS and have a good Sunday! Cheers, Cordelia
