Climbing Dune 45

Dune 45 is the most know sand dune in the Sossusvlei, well know because many people climbed this 350 meter high dune like these five people from my travel group. They all survived :-)
Anyway captured the five while they were on the way up to the summit.

PP work: shot in Raw, converted ti jpeg and adjusted levels and curves, Small crop and resized used USM for sharpening.

Hello Hans!
Beautiful picture from the desert!
Great colour of the sand!
Nice atmosphere!
Best regards!

WOW! This is very nice Hansie! Very nice lines in this! Almost abstract, but the people show just how high this is. Did you climb up there Hansie? It looks hot and miserable! Nice work on this!

Hello Hans,

Very nice photograph of the people climbing the dunes! Perfectlyu blue sky against the sand and very nice frame work!

Well done!

Hello Hans,
a beautiful admission, a very beautiful perspective interesting composition of sand landscape with the people. Very good colour and contrast wonderful structure. Bravo. Thanks and kind regards.

If I haven't seen this particular dune before, I know I've seen similar shots - and they never cease to impress me. The natural minimalism of a shot like this, the duo-tone colours and the simplicity of the figures climbing the sand, is excellent. Your cinematic framing gives appropriate sense of drama.
If I was to take a photograph of this scene, I'd hope to capture it the way you have!

Hi Hans,
I know that this kind of scene isn't easy to capture! The strong light reverberating on the hot sand can give a lot of problem at a photographer. But, you overcame problems and for a great image. The simple composition with the focus on the climbers gives a great sense of scale and a very esthetical image. Bravo! Annie

minimal and good graphic look image, beautiful contrast colors.those people give sense of scale very well and give this image interesting.nice frame support the image as well.i like it :)

Hi Hans, A beautiful desert image. The cropping is excellent as are the colours. The walkers are well position and show the scale of this huge dune. TFS. Murray.

Hello Hans,

This is a great capture. Having the people on the dune shows the huge scale.
Well composed, good detail and colour. The frame does nicely to enhance the presentation.
