Hi Everyone

A little busy with my office works not too active in these days.

While climbing down the mountain this Caterpillar was spotted by our hiking leader mamcg.

It was late evening and the lighting condition was low so again tried flash to get details.
This caterpillar posed in such way which seems to me that it was ready for a shot.
This Caterpillar is of the Spurge Hawk-moth(source Wikipedia)

Thank you for visiting and useful feedback
Have A Nice Weekend!!

Caterpillars are the larval form of a member of the order Lepidoptera (the insect order comprising butterflies and moths). They are mostly herbivorous in food habit, with some species being insectivorous. Caterpillars are voracious feeders and many of them are considered pests in agriculture. Many moth species are better known in their caterpillar stages because of the damage they cause to fruits and other agricultural produce.

Hi Mushtaq,
Great macro of this caterpillar. Nice details and good colors. Very sharp. TFS Julie

Hello Mushtaq,

Well, I have never seen a photograph of a caterpillar sitting up and posing in such a way! For me, this is certainly a first!
Excellent close-up, with the details clear and sharp.
The diagonal composition is very well composed, with the subject set nicely against an unobtrusive, contrasting b/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Mushtaq,

This is a good macro of the colorful caterpillar, and I like how you have it and the twig positioned diagonally in the frame. Did you darken the background in pp, or is this the result of using your flash?

Best regards,

Hi Mushtaq,
Nicely composed shot, do you think he got to the end of the stalk and was looking for somewhere to go? The focus and macro is superbly done for low light conditions, the colours are sharp and positioning in the frame is excellent. Best wishes

Very nice multi color caterpilar .Beautiful composition.

Salaam Mushtaq,

Yes, there was getting dark as the Exposure: f/18 has darken more the background and that gives us the idea that the more we increase the f/stop by firing flash, then the background will be more dark also this helps for depth and sharpness too.
It worth that long hike, it is well shot and composed, TFS.

Hola Mushtaq
Una imagen en la que destaca es el encuadre con la posicion muy bien elegida , el uso del flash no es muy acertado pues en la parte superioe de la rama la luz ha quemado el color , el detalle es nitido , una composicion bien realizada

buen fin de semana
un saludo

A very striking macro even if the flash was a bit too harsh (you should try flash exposure compensation) on the lighter parts. The black parts of the body of the insect look great against the black background though. Well composed and sharp, thanks!

Hi Mushtaq...nicely composed shot. Great focus and exposure...nice work.

Boa tarde meu amigo Mushtaq,
